Yea sorry guys not going to part it out. I really enjoy modding and driving cars. This car has really been alot of fun for me. I am just looking to invest my money into other adventures at this time. To be honest the 370Z reminds me of the older Lotus cars that my dad had back in the day. Great power to weight ratio, etc. I have to put my kids through college and stuff so it is what it is. I enjoy this forum and cutting up with all of yall for sure. If the car never sells I'll stick around and try to meet up with everyone once again for a good mountain run. These cars are alot of fun for sure.

If I get a kitchen pass, I will caravan. Of course, I will have to come back that PM because the wife will swear I am at a strip club....

There are some great oil coolers on the market but I will say this, make sure you actually need an oil cooler beyond the stock one before you purchase anything.

For daily/street use, I haven't seen my oil temps go beyond 210-220...even when it was 92 out a few days back and I was blasting down the interstate for quite a while. I'm using AMSOIL 5W-30 and the ZSpeed Front Diffuser, which would be the only things influencing that at all but I doubt they are really changing anything. If you are going to track the car then the oil cooler will be necessary from what I've seen/heard, and I'm sure some of the members here will chime in with some good options.

I haven't laid eyes on the OEM oil cooler yet but I'm going to agree with Brandon^ Unless you plan on tracking your car, chances are you will not need anything beyond the stock unless you are like me and want to "make damn sure" when it comes to oil temps. If you want to go aftermarket, this is what I would look at:

Z1 Motorsports 370Z/G37 Oil Cooler Kit

The 19 row may not be much more than the OEM kit, might be worth the few extra bones to get the 25 row. Z1 has a good sales staff that can answer any questions you have about your stock cooler vs their cooler. Just give them a call

Thanks for the info guys. I am one of those "better safe than sorry" types. I may do a little bit of tracking but I also know that oil cooling is definitely an issue with any kind of spirited driving or track duty. I will check out the Z1 unit. Thanks again.

Next time I'm under the Z changing oil or whatever, I'll try to snap a pic of the stock cooler. Also, doesn't Nissan offer a different oil cooler that doesn't inherently void warranty?

Not that I have ever seen. I'd check with your local dealership that you would want to go to for warranty work but I cannot imagine that a larger than stock oil cooler would void any kind of powertrain warranty. Remember the letter of the law is that if worse comes to worse, the manufacturer has to prove in a court of law that your mod caused an issue you want covered. I don't think it could ever do that unless it leaked all the oil out and caused the engine to seize.

Just for reference, we run the 34 row oil cooler that Z1 sells on the World Challenge car. We use it in conjunction with a larger integrated cooler in the radiator. The radiator, for those who don't know, is a CSF custom build that is half coolant, half oil cooling and is twice as thick as the stock unit (have to delete A/C condenser). It would be the equivalent of running two 34 rows is what it looks like. When working properly (we lost an oil line this past weekend, resulting in a spun a bearing), our oil temps stay well within tolerable limits in full race conditions.

The oem cooler on the 12+ is a worthless piece of crap that just makes running bigger filters a pain. I have mine (and all the plumbing) in the garage if anyone wants it.

Go with a 25+ row cooler if you're going to bother with an aftermarket cooler at all. I'd recommend the 34 row. You can always block off a portion if needed. In the winter I run a block off plate to avoid overcooling.

Z1 and FI are the only two options I would realistically consider if I were purchasing today. Just make sure you get one with a thermostatic sandwich plate.

I too am a little concerned about this oil cooling issue. I dont autox or track like I used to but I do want to run the dragon from time to time with the Z and am worried that it will get overheated based on what I have read doing that. I drive the dragon pretty hard.

I picked up a 25 row for the GF's car. on the dragon and 28 it was still topping 220 to 240.

Normal driving shes at 180 now thanks to the thermostatic plate. My Old Z had a 34 row and that one worked great even on the track.

I used a z1 cooler on my old 370z and a z1 cooler on the GF's car.
