How are you enjoying the switch from the paddles to manual?

I’ve always had manual cars and the ‘09 Z was my first auto. Honestly, I’ve never really used the paddles, maybe to downshift here and there but never truly used them.

I’m so much happier switching back to manual, except I’m going thru more gas with the manual than the auto.

Any notable differences between the two cars? I heard they added sound insulation etc...

I can probably compare apples to apples since both vehicles were the same trim/options and even to the color.

1. The auto is way quieter and road noise is less pronounced
2. The manual makes a lot of clutch/tranny chatter during idle, which my ‘07 350Z did as well
3. The manual uses a lot more gas, but I do have that much more fun with it than the auto
4. The auto made a winding down noise when I turned off the car and opened the door; the manual doesn’t do this.
5. The road noise in the manual is way more noticeable
6. I’ve noticed the strut bar in the engine bay is a bit higher in the manual than the auto.
7. I hate the DRLs
8. The trunk hatch is heavier on the ‘13 than the ‘09
9. There are more tubes in the way in front of the oil filter from what I am assuming is the oem oil cooler
10. I kinda miss the fangs on the front bumper. The current bumper looks like it’s smiling

I’m def glad I made the switch though.

None taken as I mentioned, I am having a bit more fun with the manual after having an auto for the past 3 years

Very interesting and unexpected observations. I'm very surprised that the newer car makes more road noise. Also, I'll have to pay more attention to the winding down noise when turning off the car.

More road noise is probably because you don't have the same tire brand as your last 370z!Replace your tires and you will see...

Heavier hatch= time to replace the hatch shocks...

more gas= heavier foot...

The noise came from the speedometer gauge cluster. Once you turn off the car and right when you open the door, it would make the noise.

The ‘09 Z needed new tires (they looked like slicks and had no tread) and still less road noise than the ‘13 Z that came with new tires.

If I used less gas on the manual, then that means I haven’t been driving the car the way it was meant to be

I agree with 1 thru 6. I had a 13 automatic and now have a 17 manual. The only place the 17 is quieter is the felt lining in the rear wheel wells, that stopped the rock noise back there. The manual is way more fun but the auto seemed faster.
