It takes all of 15-20 minutes to remove the bar...just do that and it makes the install a lot easier.

I believe most dynos will prove out that the K&N (or n my case the AFE) coupled with the smooth tubes (either brand) produce about the same as the Typhoons and you don't have to be concerned about...
