I can count on two hands the number of times I've gone to red line. It's not necessary. There's no power to be had beyond 7k unless your modded and tuned.

Maybe they kept ignoring the danger to manifold light on the dash? Then again that's a Vw in the pic. It would not surprise me in the least for it to have had some sort of electrical problem.

Check with the dealer. When the keys in your pocket the sensor in the car should see it and allow ou to lock/unlock the car. If its not doing that then you have a problem.
