Most autoX events in this area and HPDEs "require" at least 8" high.

For autocross I just wax the area, lay down painters tape, and wipe the excess wax away. Afterwards the numbers peel right off...

Agreed - CMP it would be good but VIR you might not want to go to 4.08.

For what it's worth I felt the stock gearing is pretty good at both tracks.
