However it's probably only wide enough for a 7 rib not 8. Ere is a pretty substantial flange around it which could probably be machined...

South bend stage 3 daily is a good all arounder. If you are tracking, dragging etc then that's different though. All depends how you use it.

Now I'm really kicking myself in the butt for selling the 2.84 which I guess was the Stillen one.

There's still a lot of room on the Stillen tensioner, that wouldn't be enough for only one size...

Maybe it's worth paying for a couple hours at a bodyshop and have them sort it out. That's very much the sort of thing I wouldn't trust a dealer to do any better of a job on than it already is.
