Unless you might have pushed on it from one end some how while it was in open position then yeah, but even in that case u can still twist it back to normal position. Or maybe ur latch is in closed...

Just let go of the hood at about 10-13in above...

Just let go of the hood at about 10-13in above the normal closed position, just make sure u hold it with one hand and at hood center position, in case if it still does not close properly u can also...
