Am I correct that you're running 93 octane? If so, you might want to up to premium 97... I've had several Z's they don't like regular or low octane in my experience! Sputtering is a good indication....

You did say the dealer not only did the steering lock but a Nav upgrade, right? Maybe the 4 miles was to make sure the Nav was working properly after the upgrade..? Just a thought. :driving:

If it doesn't do it when you take it out again...maybe it was a small dead limb you picked up during the earlier drive. They can make some strange sounds and are easily picked up. Just a thought.
