Took a few pics tonight on somebody's dock out on the river. Been playing with my Pixelstick more, I really like this thing, I just have to think of some more creative ways to use it instead of just the usual stuff. I went on my buddy Brad's facebook and saved a pic of him playing the guitar, then put it on the stick. I like how it came out. The other stuff is just me testing some of the patterns on the stick.

I'll have to contact them to fix it since it's still under warranty. One last one, I did my usual night photography stuff of the water. I always like it when I have clouds running across the sky, makes for a cool effect. http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h9...ps2m7xoduo.jpg |
Has anyone purchased a new lens from Best Buy ever? I bought a 24-70 f/4L brand new with shipping to my work. I received it and it looks new and all but the shipping label states that it shipped from Best Buy Returns Center which would lead me to believe that it was a returned unit. If that happens to be the case, I would have liked it to be priced accordingly but not sure if this is just where they ship all items from. Thoughts?

[QUOTE=Pintsize725;3471772]Attempted a version of Kazman's shot for my future sister in law's wedding ring. I'm no professional obviously, and I really need a proper lens. I'm only running with the cheapo nifty fifty. This really has me thinking of getting the 100mm macro.

Played with the 24-70 f/4L and 430ex iii tonight. Photobucket crapped on the quality though. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y29...psgnsisnfw.jpg |
The 24-70 f/4 is a flawless lens, I use it for all my event coverage and most of my commercial and magazine work. Never misses a beat, IS rules and the macro ability on the fly is most impressive.

I'm testing it out at my brother's wedding tomorrow. Hopefully I manage to get some decent shots. |

Think I'll be keeping the 24-70 f/4L.
I know the crops are weird. Too many people in the background and I didn't want to crowd the photographer they actually paid or get the same angles. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7322/...f3980b8a_c.jpgIMG_5825 by Panda House, on Flickr https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7406/...846b3d24_c.jpgIMG_5660 by Panda House, on Flickr |
Celebrating 10 years with the StormFront today! Cleaned it up and snapped a quick shot of it :)

I'm selling my excellent condition Canon 70-200 f/4 IS USM. Comes with bag, caps, hood and a Fotodiox metal lens collar for $850 shipped if anyone wants to jump on this before I list it elsewhere. PM me if interested.
And if anyone is interested, Canon has in stock refurbished 70-200 f/2.8 II IS USM's for $1688 right now! They're never in stock so this is the time to jump on that as well and they come with a year warranty. I picked one up, that's why I'm selling my other one. |

The f4 is a killer lens. The was my first "L" lens and it was amazing. I had the non-IS version. |
My absolute favorite shot of my car :happydance:

edit: Is that the stock blue color or a special color? Looks like the Daytona Blue that used to be on the 350s, which I LOVED! |

So I'm curious, what would you guys recommend for 3 lenses to cover the widest range of possibilities for photography? I'm planning on doing a mix of wedding, personal and event photography. Right now I have the Nikon D750 and the 24-120 f/4 lens. One that I will be getting will be the 70-200 2.8 VR II for sure. I'm thinking maybe a 24-70mm 2.8 and a prime? Maybe the 50mm 1.4 af-s?

I haven't photographed a car in a long long time, so I went out last weekend to take some. Exterior shot taken by a 5D III w/ 70-200 f/2.8 IS II, interior shot is a composite using 24-70 f/4 IS, last 3 use a single strobe in an octabox and a black flag for shade. Enjoy, HD wallpaper size!

Ordered a Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 to try to get some astro shots this weekend.
Might be looking into selling my 24-70 f/4L if anyone might be interested. Practically in mint condition. |
