Shot a '66 Vette yesterday morning for HotRod Dynamics. The frame off restoration had been done some time ago at another shop. Joe simply took the old school 383 out and dropped in a modern LS3 and got it wired and plumbed. The rest of the car was definitely not quite up to what I consider his "standards" but the engine swap was immaculate!

What a beautiful Vette

I have a question for you guys. I edited one picture in Lightroom. It was a lot spot removal, noise reduce and other stuff. When it's done I am quite satisfied with it. But when I export it onto the hard drive(as jpeg), the quality is reduced! I saw a lot of noises came back. Have you guys encountered this before? I know the file is pretty big(17MB) because of the editing. But I set the export option to be 100% quality of the edited RAW file. Is there a file size limitation in Lightroom when export RAW onto hard drive in jpeg?

Need some opinions. I'm starting up a professional photography business and I plan on doing about half of my work with models/portraiture and weddings. The other half split between landscape, astro-photography and street.
I put some contenders up for consideration. Initial budget is $40k. I'm only looking for two cameras. One super portable for street and the other for the no-joke, all-out quality camera. For indoor portrait work/weddings and also landscape/astrophotography: Leica S (type 007) with Summicron 100mm f/2 ASPH and various fast lenses of various lengths -OR- Canon 5D Mark IV with Zeiss 55mm 1.4 distagon and other fast lenses as applicable For street... Leica Q (type 116) with fixed 28mm lens Any other suggestions? Looking for something small and easy to carry, handle, and manipulate settings on the fly without having to dig through menus (like the Sony A7r ii for example) Nikon D750 (or the new equivalent, if there ever is one, as long as proportions don't expand) would be a contender here. What I've listed is highly limited and I am open to suggestions as long as everything stays in the full-frame to medium format realm. DOF will be an enormous factor as I am approaching photography from an artistic standpoint in all facets including weddings. Thanks in advance for your thoughts! Edit: Added Fujifilm GFX 50S medium format camera to the mix (not yet released). |

Ooh great thread! Some awesome photos in here!
I've been trying my hand at the DSLR over the past few years - I try to shoot different subjects and styles, but usually end up pointing the camera at cars! Couple of my favourites below - http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...IMG_9455-2.jpg http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...7568eb90_b.jpg http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...7529EA4DA9.jpg http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...IMG_0006-2.jpg http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...IMG_9764-2.jpg |

Started this year off right shooting another fantastic build for Joe @ HotRod Dynamics. This '55 Nomad sports a Camaro LS3, a 6L80E transmission, an Art Morrison modern chassis with coilovers all around, and a Dana 60 independent rear end. The interior was completely custom fabricated other than the physical dash itself by a company in Florida, the door skins being CNC'd out of a solid piece of plastic and affixed to the car via rare earth magnets instead of push pins. Joe and his crew have done an amazing build for this owner, but you won't believe what I'm shooting soon for him :)

Anyone here had any experience or feedback on using the new Nikon 70-200 f2.8 E FL? I know there's a new Tamron f2.8 G2 at half the price but really a Nikon fanboy. Hoping for rebates in the future.

Nice shot, love the crop and the long shutter, sets it apart from amateur stuff. Only real critique, could use some sharpening but could have just been the upload. Thumbs up!

Hey HKYStormFront (Patrick). Happy late birthday!

Thank you bud!!
I have been fortunate enough to shoot four different cars for Mecum auctions in the past few weeks. Two weren't much to write home about but these were pretty cool... 1970 Plymouth Barracuda AAR 383 Six Barrel https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-...2JTMRmd-XL.jpg 1969 Chevrolet Corvette 427 in Monaco Orange https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-...JVgLxfM-XL.jpg Both of these cars will be auctioned next month at the Indy show. |
Just in case you aren't feeling quite patriotic enough for Memorial Day tomorrow, here's something to boost the morale! I shot these two cars at ZdayZ this year (both of these cars belong to former Z owners, now ZdayZ family members!). Both have wraps designed by Scott Kepple, wrapped by Justin @ Redline Design out of Florida. Hopefully, mine will be wrapped by next year, we will see...
