Anyone have opinions on the Sony A7RII? I'm thinking I may finally pull the trigger soon.

Eh. At this time it is purely a hobby. Worked in the business professionally from a production/post-production standpoint about 15 years ago right when digital photography was coming on line. I was scanning in negatives to be retouched via photoshop. Talk about some tedious ****! Anywho...If I got that camera or an equivalent I would turn part-time pro. Just trying to figure out how far I want to go with it. |
I was stir crazy sitting in the house waiting for the snow to stop so I went out for an adventure.
The first ones are at the pond next to my place. The last one is at a nature preserve. http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/...y/DSC_1805.jpg http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/...y/DSC_1824.jpg http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/...y/DSC_1855.jpg |
Dude, I am so regret I didn't bring my camera with me. It was so beautiful when snow stopped and sun came out! Nice shots :tiphat:
|
Dude! Damn nice shots! Love it! Serene and calm. Very cool. I wanna see moar!

I wish I was as good as my ex-gf. Holy crap. She only just recently took up wildlife as an afterthought.

I just picked up my second lens and practiced on my friend's 2009 911 Turbo this past weekend.
My gear now consists of: Sony A7II 28mm F2 70-200mm F4 I've only been shooting since November, so any advice to help me improve is greatly appreciated! http://i63.tinypic.com/29foxls.jpgDSC03262-2 by ttv36, on Flickr http://i65.tinypic.com/fbarz4.jpgDSC03164 by ttv36, on Flickr http://i65.tinypic.com/kardxz.jpgDSC03186 by ttv36, on Flickr http://i65.tinypic.com/3129w06.jpgDSC03285 by ttv36, on Flickr http://i66.tinypic.com/elbqit.jpgDSC03289 by ttv36, on Flickr http://i63.tinypic.com/10yhod5.jpgDSC03245 by ttv36, on Flickr http://i63.tinypic.com/2nhkrb6.jpgDSC03312 by ttv36, on Flickr |

Finally took my camera gear out for a little exercise, bought a decent bit of equipment while I was out of the country and finally got an excuse to use some of it.

You guys make me jealous lol, I might as well sell all my stuff and give up hahaha. I need to take some Photoshop courses or something, a lot of the really good shots I see have that little PS touch that makes it amazing.
Anyway, I ended up getting the D750 I wanted. I got a combo deal, the d750, a 24-120 f/4 lens, 2 32gb SD cards, a 3tb external HD, and a $100 gift card all for $2300 shipped. So far, I love this camera. Before, with the D 5100, I would have to do multiple shots to get the picture that I wanted, then spend a lot of time in Photoshop to get it to look the way I envisioned in my head. With this new camera I just take the picture and transfer it to my phone and post it. Most the time I don't even need Photoshop now, so that makes me very happy. Here's a couple I've taken lately. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...0810212ed4.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...897981e7fa.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...6620e88111.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...49b1c5c17a.jpg Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk |
That's awesome! Glad someone finally plunked down on the camera I wanted. Now that you have it I have to get something else. ****. Now I'm stuck forking out $5k for the A7R II and lenses.
Huck. I hate you. ;) lolz |
Picked up a 7d and a 70-200 F4 recently. Still getting used to it, its been about 6 months since I've used a dslr sadly. Here are a few from the recent Pirelli World Challenge at COTA

So I picked up a used D3s because I shoot alot of live music and really needed the ISO performance and the used price was right on. Coming from a D5100 I absolutely love it!

Tracie, you can get a used 6d for just under a grand I think, if you find the right deal
Do you own ef-s lenses? |
Same. I'm on a t4i and never have any issues. My general rule is to step a few more feet back if I need something bigger. hahahahahhaa

Edit: I do have the 24mm pancake and the stock lens that came with the t3i. I've got an EF nifty fifty too. |
Tracie maybe check out a Canon forum for their fs threads, I've seen good deals on nikonites for Nikon stuffs.

Ok so thinking about the 6D now. What two lenses would you guys recommend? I love shooting landscapes and need something to capture the kiddo's cute moments.

So I was thinking of getting the body only and buying two lenses to start off. My thoughts are on the 16-35 f/4L and the 100mm macro f/2.8L. Figured I could get away with using the 100 at track events. What would you recommend? I really want to keep the IS on both if possible. I shoot a lot of family events in small spaces, events out at COTA, landscapes, and flowers. I also want to get back into astrophotography at some point so I'm not sure the f/4 will be enough. I used the 16-35 2.8L before and it was great but so heavy and no IS. |
I'm not sure if it fits well with what you're wanting, but the 70-200 f4L is a fantastic lens and is one if their cheaper L lenses. Very sharp.
