Thanks Dan! Did you decide on your exhaust yet? What mods have you had done since I talked to you last? For me, the BIG 3 must-haves:
1) exhaust
2) shifter
3) springs

Still stock for now. Trying to curtail the mod habit.

How's the gt500 exhaust after driving around some? Did you remove the resonators?

I left them on for now. The sound to me is PERFECT. Got a little louder, but I am worried it might be too quiet for you still.

Not a DSLR shot. Kinda hard for my new camera to take a picture of itself.
Sh!t's gonna get good!

Nice -- I use a 7D and very much like it.

KingZee 12-29-2011 06:27 PM

I have a 7D as well and love it  Congratulations. Feel free to share tips and tricks, I've had it for over a year and I'm sure I don't know half the features this camera has. Too damn lazy to read the manual.

m4a1mustang 12-29-2011 06:28 PM

7D is on my list of "sh!t to buy in 2012."

KingZee 12-29-2011 06:30 PM

one thing I haven't quiet understood is the difference between full frame and non-full frame SLRs...is the difference just as simple as not being able to use the full focal length of any lens?

I like to overcompensate.

Me too:

:p

That's awesome, though. I saw a coffee mug that was modeled after a Canon lens like that a few years ago. I need to find where to buy one of those...

It is the Canon 100 - 400. I like it, but it is heavy -- like almost 4 pounds.

Holy cow!

KingZee 12-29-2011 06:34 PM

:icon18:

edit: I was laughing at 5.0 overcompensation

damn 4 pounds is nuts! Does it have a tripod attachment?

Yeah, the 5.0 comment beats mine.

On the lens, there is a remove-able tripod mount. I usually use a monopod with it.

KingZee 12-29-2011 06:37 PM

I want this:

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...CL._AA500_.jpg

Amazon.com: Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon SLR Cameras: Camera & Photo

onzedge 12-29-2011 06:38 PM

That is a very sweet lens and probably my next one.

True. Some people really like the Sigma lenses, but I have been using Canon for 35 plus years. Not one of my probably 30 or so Canon lenses I have owned, used and abused has ever failed.

There's a bunch of benefits, but honestly with how good crop sensors cameras are getting, I don't see a need to go to a full frame body. I would like better low light/high ISO performance than what my D90 can do, though. FF is typically better at high ISO performance.

KingZee 12-29-2011 06:44 PM

yeah I've heard good things about Sigma as well, maybe I'll try one out.

m4a1mustang 12-29-2011 06:46 PM

That would be amazing. I have the el-cheapo 70-200 which does the job, but f/2.8 would be great.

I go to a lot of sporting events and this lens would be amazing...I was at the Laker game a couple nights ago and could've really used it. Still got some decent shots with my Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 but I was craving a lower f stop at 100-135mm

Yeah same here. Racing for me. Day is OK with what I have now, but at night it's a crapshoot.

I've heard these bits and pieces here and there...is there a good technical explanation somewhere I can read?

 I love motion car photography.

m4a1mustang 12-29-2011 07:07 PM

The day after I bought my EF 70-300 I went to the NASCAR night race at Richmond... had a really tough time with it even with all the lighting they had. I'm sure a lot of it was because I was total n00b with it.

m4a1mustang 12-29-2011 07:23 PM

These are some of the ones that came out of the 1,000+ shots I took that night back in 2009. I was having all sorts of trouble with light and getting the color right. Not to mention I'm sitting in a grand stand with a lot of vibration and there's smoke and stuff floating through the air (from the cars and from the people) creating a bit of a haze.

Those are great shots!
I plan do be doing portraiture and fashion photography as relates to my work, but I'm always up for pointing my camera at other things.

I get hard for L glass. Should be a bumper sticker.

Hahaha on the overcompensating.

I want these coffee mugs:

As far as ISO performance and light gathering ability, think of it like this:
Say you have a Nikon D90 and a Nikon D700 as examples, both are 12 Megapixel sensors. meaning the D90's (crop sensor) 12 million pixels are crammed into a smaller sensor and the larger sensor of the D700 (full frame) has more area to spread those 12 megapixels out so light can hit each pixel "easier" for lack of a better term and gather more light because of the larger size of each pixel, whereas the D90's smaller pixels that are crammed together make it harder for the light to reach all of the pixels leading to more noise in your photograph. Same goes for pocket cameras. The sensor is so small anything past ISO 400 usually yields unpleasant photos

m4a1mustang 12-29-2011 07:37 PM

Thanks guys!

Luna, those are awesome mugs!

Zee, great shots from the game. I've never been to an NBA game before... I need to go!

I noticed the Laker-ettes. Was there a game, too?
