Canon U.S.A. : Professional Imaging Products : EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM

Darned digital photography is going to cost as much as a Z.

I love that lens... I wish I could justify making the purchase. Wildlife Photography is a big thing for me and right now just using a 55-250mm to get away with it. Luckily the crop factor on my camera helps..

Here are 2 of my 55-250mm shots

Look at Tamron lenses...they are all made in Japan using the same suppliers, could save yourself some bucks, if it's only for play you don't really need pro grade..,just a suggestion. I have a couple of tamron that I use, a lot. The Canon zooms are pricey, my husband buys them for me for christmas occasionally. Lucky me!

.... but the image quality is worth it. Just like the price of the car is worth the price you pay.

We have some nesting falcons or hawks -- hard for me to say exactly which yet, but they are noisy and active. They have been hanging around our backyard in the trees and I hope they are still there when the lens shows up.

This hawk actually showed up this one day and never came back.

This redtail Hawk was at a state park near me

And More pesky squirrels

Nick -- the last time I saw a squirrel that close up it had crosshairs on it.

Nick- love the hawk shots. We had a couple in my neighborhood and never did get a shot of them. Had some great "branch" and "leaves" shots though.

onzedge- niiiiice purchase! You are going to have fun with that .

Here is a shot with a 50mm f1.8 hand held at around 9:30 at night... dont' know what settings because I can't find the original image! No edits other than a crop.

Nice shot, beach. Great, just great. Another lens I am now going to convince myself I need.
