Alchemy- looks good. I like the last shot. I donno, I'd keep the fangs black like that!
Nitex- dang, very nice shot. its great that bestbuy has a nice return policy and convenience. I think these local stores have an edge on the convenience for sure vs online stores. :) |
^ Nice pic Nitex. Your dog is awesome. Love the eyes in that pic, he\she looks crazy lol. Btw as I said I shot those pics at the bottom of my driveway. Never shot there before, it was alright. I like the first pic the best:)

And yes He is very crazy indeed. The ball is his life.. Anytime.. anywhere.. ball :ugh: |
couldn't pick up an sb-700 in time for spocom. i was walking around and taking shots, everything came out awkward, wasn't too thrilled by it. lots of post processing will fix it, but i wish i could have had an external flash to help lighting lol
|
Alch- love the black fangs. Definately fit the car!
Nitex- beautiful shot, beautiful dog! Phelan- Yep, it's amazing what a speed light will do for your shots. We have an SB600 and an SB900. In most cases the 600 does just as good a job as the 900 and is lighter and easier to deal with. |

HKY - nice shot!
Nitex- i like that antique car, lots of character. :D that's a busy background with the spider webs...reminds me of japan. lol  i think your saturation look okay on my hp pc... will take a look later in my MBP when i get home. :p |
Ok i finished some pics of my zoo trip. I really wanted to share the tigers but unfortunately they were some of the first pics i took with the camera. And i was still fumbling with settings. At any rate here they are!
*Edit - I had a crap rocketfish CPL on for these photos.. if only i could go back and put my new Hoya CPL on.. Taken with my D7000 + Nikkor 70-300 at or close to max range. http://i367.photobucket.com/albums/o...s/DSC_0058.jpg Tiger ambush--------------^^ : ) http://i367.photobucket.com/albums/o...s/DSC_0043.jpg http://i367.photobucket.com/albums/o...s/DSC_0052.jpg http://i367.photobucket.com/albums/o...s/DSC_0055.jpg http://i367.photobucket.com/albums/o...s/DSC_0057.jpg http://i367.photobucket.com/albums/o...s/DSC_0036.jpg |

Finally found a few minutes look at the shots from the regatta this weekend. Here are a couple. I will try and put a few more up later cause I gotta run....
http://www.the370z.com/members/beach...83-oh-yeah.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/beach...ow-regatta.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/beach...bottoms-up.jpg This 1979 Lauterbach Custom hydroplane was designed and built by my wife's grandfather and his brother. It was a treat for us to get to see it. The original owner brought it up from Florida where it is still raced. It is a work of art!!! http://www.the370z.com/members/beach...lutely-art.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/beach...lutely-art.jpg |
awesome picts, beach!

dammit, i keep missing out on the deals on craigslist for the sb-700!

Lots of nice shots in here guys! I've been shooting a ton lately. Finally sold my Sigma 24-70 2.8 and picked up a Canon 24-70L 2.8. Now I just need to grab a 7D and some ABs and I'll be set!
Here's a couple recent shots of our shop e92 BMW M3 http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6147/...c17de46b_o.jpg GTHAUS Wideobdy e92 BMW M3 by jeremycliff, on Flickr http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5316/...ff7f961e_b.jpg GTHAUS-Meisterschaft widebody e92 BMW M3 by jeremycliff, on Flickr I'll be posting a whole shoot with it as soon as they are all done. ^^ I've been looking at the AB's for a while now. I don't have a good enough excuse to pull the trigger though.

I was just looking at your Raptor shoot thinking "I wish he would post some set up shots". I just picked up the generator for my portable lighting kit and will soon venture out for a test shoot of the roadster. Thank you very much for the head start!!!
|
glad to be of service :tiphat:
|
HKY- dang.... so that's how the pro's do it. :D
im embarrassed to show picts of my umbrella-less ikea floor lamp with twisty bulb as my lighting... :rofl2::wtf2: |
Hey ken, we all gatto start somewhere. And that is a good way to learn about lighting... good and bad.
|
it's not much... there's nothing wrong with some improv lighting setups tho! i used them for a while with meh success. AB's are definitely the way to go for those with the means
|
This probably wasn't the best idea for a new hobby considering I'm such a gadget geek. As i found the pro camera store in my area and my bank account suddenly got much much smaller.
Here is the new setup for macro :icon17: http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6079/...1245eefc_b.jpg And now my first attempt at macro. I still have a ways to go but.. ultimately i would like to do some crazy macro videos. All photos taken tonight hand held. I'm very new to this but its really fun! http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6204/...0b4e1800_b.jpg http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6067/...f276854c_b.jpg http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6186/...44798cf8_b.jpg http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6129/...15c81e35_b.jpg http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6061/...62cc6c03_b.jpg http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6072/...e5ca4599_b.jpg |
nice shots but use more f-stop for a greater DoF! you should be at least at f/8 or f/11 if not higher when that close! you may need to compensate by bumping up ISO or slowing down shutter speed if possible
