Just posted yesterday.

This is the kinda stuff I am talking about. If my handles were ready to be shipped two weeks ago, then why are you respraying them tomorrow?

It's always easy to tell someone else to calm down when it isn't your money or items that are gone. If you aren't a buyer or a seller, then your opinion don't mean **** to me.

To be honest, Madchemist handles would've shipped out a a couples days back but I was waiting to finish up yours so I can tap and reassemble all at the same time. I do all the disassembly/tapping/reassembly in my living room and it makes a huge mess so I try to get as much done in one session if possible.

I do the spraying in my only guest bedroom venting out the window. If I have company that weekend (which I can't tell them no since it is immediate family) then I can't do anything that Thursday-Sunday. I cannot turn on my air compressor past 8PM or neighbors will be complaining per experience (which only gives me a 3-4 hour window). My real job is nothing related to automotives/painting or the likes. I'm in healthcare and I'm pretty much on my feet for 8-9 hours straight making sure somebody doesn't flat line.

The side markers I re-sprayed as per requested and it looks like crap. There are words on the side markers that pops out and is quite an eyesore so I will just refund you the cost of them.

Kabestro 09-22-2014 01:56 PM

Are these guys without handles on their cars all that time? If they have core swaps just refund their money, I'm sure you can sell what ever you have done to someone else. Screw them...

Update:
Assembling both madchemist and oaktowns tonight after I get home from work and shipping out tomorrow morning. Starting on phantom370z handles tomorrow as well.

MadChemist 09-23-2014 03:47 PM

Thanks for the update

Hmm, whatever dude. For the record I did have my money and items invested in Equalme - he did my handles a few months back. I shipped a set over from Australia and waited for him to do the job & ship them back. All of which cost me time & extra $, so if anything I had MORE invested than you. Not once while I was waiting did I feel the need to bleat impatiently in public about it.

...but then what do I care? My opinion doesn't mean ****to you.

Enjoy your new door handles buddy. I'm sure you'll be impressed with the quality of work.

I've got a fever, and the only prescription - is more cowbell!

+1 for Gun Metallic. Finally installed mine and they look great!

Of course you got a set from equalme. What else would have prompted you to blindly defend one party and "bleat in public" another party over a transaction that you are not part of and have no clue about.

Jaybo666 09-24-2014 06:31 PM

update on mine please

Crisisx1 09-24-2014 09:24 PM

My suggestion to the guy doing the work... Don't overfill your plate

Minimize your turn around time by reducing orders. I wouldn't be happy either if I had to wait 2+ months.

I was able to do 1.5 week turnaround but my real job started taking a chunk of my free time. So now I'm pretty much not offering this service anymore.

equalme 09-25-2014 01:46 AM

Just shipped out madchemist and oaktowns order.

Starting phantom370z on Friday and it'll be ready to ship Monday (have to wait on more clear coat to come in tomorrow evening).

Jaybo is after him but I will have to wait for a core to come back from madchemist or oaktown.

MadChemist 09-25-2014 05:48 AM

If I get the handles by Saturday, I'll install this weekend and ship the cores back on Monday.

Seriously? Buddy, there is so much wrong with what you just wrote there. You've contradicted yourself, icorecctly tried to smart-arse my own words back at me AND made a ridiculous assumption.

Well done - my benchmark for the 'lowest common denominator' has been reset at an all-time low.

:iagree:

And Im pretty sure everyone who's been waiting will get what they paid for.

It's a shame for the others wanting this service will have to look elsewhere, But this is totally understandable when a hobby is turning into a full time job.

I don't want see anymore back and forth arguing as I expect this to close as soon as the last door handles have been shipped

And everyone has got what they paid for.

MadChemist 09-30-2014 04:07 PM

Got my door handles this past weekend and installed them. Quality of the paint is top notch and the customer service has been great, minus going rogue for a couple weeks. Thanks for the time and effort.

Jaybo666 10-03-2014 09:49 PM

thanks for the update MC, i hope that means mine are being done now

andrewbennett 10-04-2014 06:29 AM

Equalme you have pm

phantom370z 10-04-2014 05:08 PM

My handles show they were delivered today, will check them over when I get home and hopefully install tomorrow.

phantom370z 10-05-2014 08:07 AM

Got the handles last night and overall they look great.

There is 1 small spot on the driver's side handle that has kind of a bump on it, probably some dust under the clear. It isn't something you would really notice unless you got right up on the handle and looked at the exact spot. If it ever bothers me I may do some light wet sanding and polish that spot after 3-4 months when everything has cured...overall it's no big deal. I'll post pics when I get them installed.

Kabestro 10-05-2014 08:24 PM

Hey man, If you can, post some pics of the dis-assembly process. :tiphat:

Sorry, already installed. There are already several DIY threads for removal. I will post pictures tomorrow when I can snap a few.

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately a piece of dust does make it under the clear occasionally since I don't have a real spray booth. It is easy to take care of as you mentioned with light sanding with 2500-3000 grit and polish. You can actually do it now as it might be a bit harder once fully cured.

How did the color match up to the two tone?

I'll be honest man, I'm not sure if it bothers me enough to even worry about it :D

On a side note, there was one issue with the handle itself, not the paint. I did not end up being able to unhook the blue connector because I don't have the micro-size hands I'd assume you need to do that, so I had to go the swap the button route...and I'm glad I did or I'd never have noticed the problem. Either the previous owner of that core or yourself broke one of the receptors on the left of the metal plate that holds the button in, so when I unscrewed that screw with almost no force, it broke right off. I know it wasn't me because there was glue already there from where whoever tried to glue it down before. I ended up using Gorilla glue for plastic to glue it back on and it was very strong so I'm not really concerned but that was something I was not expecting. I'm not sure if it's going to be an issue in the future with vibrations/bumps/etc but I hope not. Also, I did end up somewhat stripping the screws that hold that plate in on my stock handles but left them up high enough where they can be easily extracted with a small pair of pliers or vice grips. Those screws will need to be replaced so if you need to take the cost of those two screws out of my core charge that's cool. I will ship them back tomorrow once I get into the office.

Now that's it sunny I'll be pulling it out of the garage and comparing the color match later today, I'll keep you posted and post some pictures.

equalme 10-06-2014 03:51 PM

Those plastic screw holes are super fragile and snaps like nothing with all the loc-tite used from factory. As long as you were able to tighten it back down without it breaking apart it is pretty much a non-issue. About 1/3 of the cores I receive back I've had to repair them using epoxy. The button will actually hold tight and function with just one screw as well. No worries on the two screws.

Yea the button was still working fine when I glued that piece back, I'm not overly concerned.

phantom370z 10-07-2014 01:02 PM

Cores shipped back, you should get them in 1-2 days.

EDIT: tracking shows delivered, you should have them.

phantom370z 10-10-2014 10:30 PM

So I've taken some time to analyze the paint match and it's pretty much exact. Thanks again equal. Hopefully I can get some decent pics one of these days
