^ I am near Chicago, NW suburbs.

This backup camera is really nice and the garage opener, compass, and auto dimming mirror all make it so much better. It really is a great deal.

The camera is mounted right above the plate next to the passenger side plate light.

Anyone know if the 2011 base w/sports comes pre-wired for this? My 07 Civic had the foglamp wiring going through the firewall and under the dash without any foglamps or switch - making it simple to put in foglamps after the fact.

The only reason I ask: the PDF's mention this on page 7 -

c) For vehicle’s containing the spare 10-pin harness used on the factory mirror, wrap 1 piece of foam tape around connector. (Fig. 15)
d) Using panel removal tool, tuck harness up into the headliner toward passenger side. Ensure harness is not interfering with headliner. (Fig. 15)

What's the 'spare' harness for?
