Haven't picked up my z yet, just watched a youtube video of a guy driving his. I noticed everytime he looked to his right he had to dip his head down to see under the mirror

I've never consciously had a problem. I suppose compared to normal cars the window may be more angled, giving the mirror more room on the window. But I honestly don't see how it would be a problem. Maybe post up the video so we can see.

yeah, it's annoying. and the wing mirrors also are dangerous view blockers for cross traffic, whenever there's hills around, which there are a lot of in my hood. I have to lean forward to look around the wing mirrors to make sure there are no vehicles in that blind spot.

Seems to me most people complain about the side mirrors mostly. I have a problem with the rear view mirror and have considered removing it and installing a rear view camera instead. I wonder if this could be due to a persons height? I know that I have roughly an inch or so between my head and the roof. THe side mirrors have never been a problem while the rear view mirror gets on my nerves quite often.

I have this problem on certain on ramps. I try to look ahead and all I see is mirror. I'll see if lowering my seat helps but I'm 6'2" so there isn't much hope that this helps.

6"5 no issues whatsoever... Adjust seat.

I drive my Z around the city and have nearly run over pedestrians or hit cross traffic a number of times at 4-way stops due the position of the center rear view mirror. It's just large and in the perfectly right (or wrong) spot to block a glance for cross traffic from the right.

Adjusting your seat to see under a mirror is the wrong thing to do. You adjust your seat for proper driving position (pedal distance, steering wheel reach, etc), not to see below a center mirror. Compromising proper driving position during 99% of your driving experience to improve vision during 1% of the time is dangerous. I just duck my head when checking for cross traffic now.

The mirror size is TERRIBLE. Very intrusive to the right. I don't know why the Z needs pick up truck sized side mirrors. Sometimes I feel like retrofitting the Altima 3.5 mirrors. My accident with the silver Z I patrially contribute it to the size of the mirrors. Also if you had an 09 Z the A pillar is more round and looks wider than the Z's of later. So nissan knows the right side has a huge obstruction.

The discussion is about forward view with the central rearview mirror. Not about the side mirrors...they've been discussed and complained about since the car was released. And the Z needs huge side mirrors because it has huge blind spots.
