Default exhaust

Sorry for the lack of response. I replaced with quietest FI I could get. I am supercharged running headers and test pipe - its still louder than I like, and may take the headers off. But I'm not a spring chicken and have some hearing loss already.

Still working on pictures, but the only thing of note is a bit of rash on the braided flex couplers, but nothing that alters function.
NissanTracker and STIZ34 like this.

I'm actually in the same boat. Supercharged with TG's A-A kit with Motordyne TDX2. I was blowing cats so went to FI resonated test pipes. Loud as hell.

What I did was added high flow cats further down stream to the Y pipe. 2 100 cells on each side. I also added Hemholtz resonators to the test pipes (similar to the Motordyne ART, but with additional resonators on the FI TPs).

Helmholtz resonators help a ton. Just bottle resonators with caps on them. Technically they need to be sized to cancel out rasp/drone. They do a great job adding a deeper tone.

My FI exhaust has the 18" resonated X pipe, 14" touring mufflers and 100 cell cats. I'm running Motordyne ART test pipes and headers. Don't know what else I can do.
The FI exhaust quieted down the WOT sound level but I get a lot of resonance through the cabin. Not drone per se'. It begins when I roll on throttle (load). In my experience, the situations that set off my tinitus is vibrations/resonance, not necessarily high decibels.
Interested point you make about tuned Hemholtz resonators. I wouldn't know where to begin there.
Ok, as I type, the previous owner messaged me he thought the test pipes were too quiet so he had the chambers fabbed/reduced. Arghhhh! Anybody know the original dimension of the chamber off hand??

So based on my current system, do you think it would help to add an additional hemboltz chamber somewhere else in the system? I'll have the Motordyne ART fabbed to restore the original chamber size.
