Are you the original owner?

It's possible the car went in for a CSC warranty claim (or any other that would necessitate pulling the tranny)... in those cases I am sure the dealership destroyed the OEM knob and replaced it, then didn't repeat the threadlocker fiasco.

I believe it's true because mine came off by hand also when I replaced it. It's a 2009 Nismo and I'm the original owner.

I bought my 2016 new and took mine off by hand. It wasn't fun but it can be done. I used a tap to clean out all the loc-tite afterwards.
