The turtle is not even with the surface of the shift knob on the Original TK, it protrudes upward. The remake from Rowen that Bulletproof sells now have a turtle that is even with the face of the knob.

That is the main difference.

The hebi babi was one of the last and most sought after shift knobs when Tommy Kaira shut down and it made them a very valuable discontinued item. No supply being made, big demand?.. makes the sell price increase.

When the remakes came out from Rowen AKA and had differences from the still greatly demanded original Tommy Kaira knob, it made it a collectors item. It established the difference between Authentic and Replica Versions.

In the end it all depends on the seller, the buyer and what has happened recently behind the company that made the part. People now will try to sell the original TK at a really low price to be somewhere close to the remake's price. Better chance of making a sale and taking $300-$350 now rather than $550 later down the line if the buyer comes a long. The more and more Rowen Tk's that are produced and purchased will bring more value to the Original's though.

If someone is a collector and/or wants the part for whatever reason, they will pay the price for the collector's authentic piece of JDM history.
