FP, RICER and whoever else thinking about the ZL1...

What color would you get if you jumped ship?

I think I'd do blue

White or one of the blues would be my choice

Hotrodz 10-27-2016 10:27 AM

Chevy is on the brink of putting down that 7 liter psychopath. The Z/28. Stats aren't out yet but the last car was 505HP. Being that the base SS is 455 and the ZL1 is 650. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess 575HP to 600HP of N/A goodness.

I'm guessing if a ZR-1 comes for the corvette? We'll be looking at 800HP?

Forget where I saw it on fb but there was a video on the new copo Camaro and it was sexy. No idea on specs though

SS1LE... a $45,000 ZL1 without the supercharger. Chevy is definitely doing great things. I like how Pobst says the throttle is too aggressive and less progressive.

I know what he means cuz a progressive throttle allows you to be more fluid on a track, but.... Camaro puts that AGGRESSIVE instant torque throttle push in their cars that make camaro feel like bucking broncos that you must tamed. I love that feeling in Camaro's. They always feel 100HP more than they are when you stomp on them from 0. The G forces are real in Camaro!!

I got to tell you that is going to be one hell of a track car. My buddy that I track with has a 14 and it is pretty incredible. He just added headers and is waiting on a new cam shaft. And as good as the LE1 is the Z28s are that much better. They are among the fastest at the track days I have attended. One of the guys at the last outing has 700whp z28 that is refuckindiculous!!! It is amazing that a big car like that can handle so well!

:iagree:

Chevy is definitely doing their thing.

For everything you get it's pretty fvckin amazing. Honestly I can't see a vette being a better value at that coin. U gotta buy the vette cuz u love vette when compared to a ZL1.

To be honest if the Camaro didn't get a much needed facelift and total redesign I would never even look at it twice. The last gen was just awful looking and only a good driving car in the 1le or z28 form.

Now with the new look and performance I agree it's most certainly a contender against the vette in terms of bang for your buck and fun. Same exact engine and suspension just a different look and little more/less weight.

Personally if given the choice of a new vette or new Camaro I'm going vette. However with the ZL1 monster being around the same price as a z51 vette with 200 more hp it's a toss up lol

Considering the weight difference on the camaro 6 and c7 z06 is negligible. I'd say camaro all day long. I know the GS is tempting at that price. But the 10 speed auto is crazy. I think the tranny in the camaro is gonna cause corvette owners to be tight if they don't get grips on the 10 soon? I'm sure it takes camaro performance to the next level. That said... So many cars excite me. But none have made me as emotional as the Z.

:iagree: and because the Z is such a raw and real driving experience, I don't need another two seater and therefore the wife may need a camaro before long lol!
