Five battles 2016 Camaro must win - LimaOhio.com - limaohio.com

I always felt that at 54.2", The Chevy Camaro was too tall for a sports car and if i owned one? My goal would have been 52" ride height. Well the GOOD OLE ALPHA platform did not disappoint. I had mentioned the alpha looked like the seat was lower in the cockpit floor. Well my guess should be correct because the Camaro 6 is 1.2" lower than the outgoing Camaro 5 at 53". While still 1.6 inches taller than a Z34, the new camaro is low and getting a 1.5" drop shouldn't be any challenge. A 51.5" Camaro is so tempting with a Loud exhaust and dark tints.

The height, weight and proportions of the Camaro are perfect. Nissan needs to look at the Camaro proportions for the R36. While i love the GTR Aggressive styling. The cars proportions are too big for a performance car. Camaro hit a size sweet spot for a 4 seat coupe and am so excited to see this car in person. The new mustang seating position still needed improvement as the seating position mimicks a sporty sedan instead of a sports car. It had been my main gripe with mustang. The optional recaros were very comfy in the stang but still fail to provide that "one with the vehicle" feel while driving.
Theres no denying the Z seating position is the best in the price range. But i think Camaro will shock us. Camaro 5 seat position was real good. Recaros were excellent. In the Camaro. The new seating position should be next level shyt.

pretty cool camaro facts.,,

The SS sounds so capable, im wondering what will they offer as a 1LE package. As the SS is totally track capable? Maybe more aggressive gear ratios and weight reduction with beefier tires?

m4a1mustang 05-26-2015 09:27 AM

Probably what they do now. Track oriented tire and suspension. Which should be pretty sick.

The SS will be track capable, sure, but it will be primarily focused on being a great road car. Add the 1LE if you want to get serious.

I think the Z28/ZL1 type variants are going to be insane.

Yeah, but the current SS is nowhere near this track capable. Its pretty dramatic jump in capability from the camaro 5 to the camaro 6. The current 1LE has a ZL1 suspension. I guess we gonna have to wait and see what the next ZL1 will be spec'd like to figure out what improvements will trickle down to the 1LE package.

The next Z better be one DOPE ride because right now. I cant imagine putting $40k anywhere else. And at 53" ride height (1LE may be lowered to 52"?) This car will have or be capable of a dedicated sports car center of gravity? Its unreal for a muscle car to be this spec'd out. :driving:

You know what I mean, though. SS will be a little more plush and compliant on the street. 1LE will be a beast.

I remain unmoved until I see a return of the Firebird...

A '79 FB with a 6.6 V8 under the hood (after the crappy OEM 301 cu. in. V8 died) was my first true car-love and car-heartbreak.

m4a1mustang 05-26-2015 06:50 PM

Better come with a chicken on the hood!

RicerX 05-27-2015 08:43 AM

So what about this Mustang GT350 starting at $47k?
