Here is my latest mod, finally got a chance to snap photos and make a review about it.
Pioneer 60000-NEX with Apple Carplay upgradeability AVIC-6000NEX - NEW! - In-Dash Navigation AV Receiver with 6.1” WVGA Touchscreen Display | Pioneer Electronics USA The unit has the capability to be upgraded to Apple's Carplay once it becomes available (most likely later in the year) but has a full Apple Ipod integration and can play music as well through your Bluetooth connection. What I ended up purchasing consisted of the following: Pioneer 6000-NEX head unit Metra Double-Din Kit Metra 70-1729 wiring harness Metra 40 HD-10 Honda specific Antenna adaptor Final installed pics with the home screen options http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-v3yExOLfNZ...0/IMG_6111.JPG Navigation screen http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-916p25zh76...0/IMG_6117.JPG AV options menu, as you can see there are a ton of inputs you can add http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4DZ2Il1d4s...0/IMG_6118.JPG Full phone integration including Siri hands-free http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ua-Frj8i4Z...0/IMG_6119.JPG Dial screen with the phone integration http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-92VMjRZ6VQ...0/IMG_6120.JPG The real reason why I wanted this unit, is the fact that it provides real-time traffic updates and reroutes http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0B97m55tYj...0/IMG_6122.JPG It also has HD radio already installed in the unit without having to buy any adaptor http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CS-_iuIZQL...0/IMG_6124.JPG Bluetooth audio allows you to stream your audio files but I am now just using a dedicated Ipod for everything since I have noticed it is a better quality audio http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-w8Z9TnLRpc...0/IMG_6125.JPG Full Ipod integration including playlists, artist and album info http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-h63x8YeJpP...0/IMG_6126.JPG This is where I ended up mounting the bluetooth wired mic, I will end up replacing this install for one that is more flush http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gV2JFOgcSa...0/IMG_6113.JPG I ended up removing the OEM USB mount and instead snaked the Pioneer USB through that location. I also ended up mounting the Navigation Antenna so that it could be a cleaner overall install. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OCB8A8FxOH...0/IMG_6115.JPG |
nice job on the install  looks great. and yah, that's where i'd put the gps antenna as well  (i use my phone for nav via voice command)
i like how the display controls for your phone is on the driver side. on my 2500BT it's on the passenger side so a little bit of a reach. :D |
My only gripes are that I wish it had a volume knob like the AVIC-D3 in my Z has and it doesn't work well with my Ipod since it's so old. I ended up buying a new Ipod Nano today so that it would work better with the unit than my 8 year old Ipod :icon17: |
Bought a dedicated Ipod for this car, going to leave my old one in the Z
The old Ipod's software from 2005 wasn't working well with the Pioneers 2014 software http://i638.photobucket.com/albums/u...5259AE981C.jpg |
that's awesome! GJ. :D hahaha.
im waiting to get the new ipod touch 6 soon. :p i have the touch5, but want bigger memory. im hoping they do the ipod touch6 PLUS... also btw, i figured out wat was wrong with my 09 fit. some animal or something my wife ran over chewed up the water temp sensor harness. :eekdance: so solded it back together. im kinda pissed i didnt see that sooner, but im happy that it wasnt some reliability issue by honda. :D hahaha guess it will be something i routinely check on my '12 as well from now on. |
I'm glad to hear you got everything sorted out!

Update!
I was finally able to pull the trigger on my Mugen parts and some other exterior things to finish my build http://i638.photobucket.com/albums/u...6.jpg~original I have the following waiting to be installed in the next few weeks in this photo.. Mugen front lip Mugen rear lip Mugen badge 2013 headlights New rear hatch inside cover In-cabin filter Mobil 1 oil and filter ATF Pending: Mugen exhaust (waiting to be installed) Koni shocks (ordered) |
dang you're still working on this car, ey?
my fits are dirty as hell from salt, icemelt, grit, crap, you name it. :D |

All these parts I had been planning on getting for awhile, I was just waiting to stop carpooling so they wouldn't get destroyed on the freeway! Going to end up getting the Koni shocks next week or so then get all this stuff installed. Stay tuned! |
that's cool. does koni now offer the fronts for the GE? i know they had the rears for a while..
yah, my fits are beaters. they are my winter cars afterall. :D |
I'm going with Koni STR.T's which are non adjustable but pair well with aftermarket springs
|
Swapped out my Tanabe exhaust yesterday for the Mugen exhaust
Mugen exhaust upclose while on the lift http://i638.photobucket.com/albums/u...1.jpg~original Further away, definitely much smaller than the Tanabe :icon17: http://i638.photobucket.com/albums/u...6.jpg~original Closeup, pea shooter! http://i638.photobucket.com/albums/u...1.jpg~original First impressions, exhaust is way too quiet. Going to have to remove the stock resonator to liven up the exhaust note. |
I wish my Fit was as clean as yours. I need that Tanabe!
The Mugen exhaust is so tiny without a tip. |
Quote:
Going to do everything I can to get that exhaust in your possession ;) |
Picked up some Koni STR.T's
http://i638.photobucket.com/albums/u...8.jpg~original Also have a rolling clip of my exhaust after getting the resonator removed: |
