No need to hate on the BRZ/FRS. The loaded price of those cars catch up to our price range, whereas our loaded price range catches up with the Mustang 5.0 range. Z owners saying the BRZ/FRS is weak is like the Mustang 5.0 owners saying our Zs are weak.

I think the cars are really cool, but I wouldn't want to spend more than $20k for one. [boo... inflation]

I'd take one over the Miata, and then strip it down. At least the BRZ/FRS is RWD whereas Nissan wants to bring out an FWD competitor. :shakes head:

That is fine when any and all comers are coming at you. But the ones around here think they are antagonizing me into racing them when in reality I am just trolling them. I did not initiate a race. They were the ones tailgating and jumping their car next to me. I give them a nod and put it to the floor for a couple seconds then let off and go about my day when they floor it and go 100+ down the road while I just laugh. They are helping me in the long run to scout ahead for speed traps :rofl2:

I once had someone literally line up next to me for like 4 blocks. Since there was no traffic he just stuck next to me revving his gay little 4banger.. I usually try to stay away from driving dumb.. But boy was i annoyed.. Especially because he couldn't stop staring.. So i had me a good laugh when i left him miles behind in like 2 seconds :) lol

Lmao! I love doing that. Ill say "yeah yeah when the light turns green".. And as soon as it turns green they floor it so hard they cant even catch traction (how embarrassing) i just go on about my day. I take off at like 2mph as i have me a good laugh :) lol.

Not a flyby from the car but an attempt by an FRS salesperson.

On Tuesday I had to meet with a client who works in the back office at a local Scion dealership, so I park up front of the dealership in front of 5 FRS's. Young male salesperson approx 25-28 years old comes walking quickly up to me, first words out of his mouth were, "are you thinking about trading that Z in for one of these", points at the FRS's. I thought that was pretty humouros of him, so I laugh and say "thank you but no, I'm here to see my client who works in the back".
Conversation then went like this.
Sales person: "did you test drive the FRS before you bought your Z?"
Me: "yes I did".
Sales person: "and what you'd think about it?"
Me: "I liked it, but just felt it was under powered to suit me".
Sales person: "well you know, you could just turbo it and it would be faster than your Z".
Me: " ahh yes, but then couldn't I turbo the Z as well, and if I did, wouldn't it still be faster than a turboed FRS?"
Sales person: hesitates, then says "I'll call your client for you from the back".

No hate... Like I said earlier. I think those cars are kewl. Way OVERRATEDand highly OVERPRICED, but they're decent cars. You're pricing schemes are flawed and the quality of a Z at 33k vs a 30k BRZ??? Night and day. There should be a $10k difference between the two, not a $3k difference.
That said. The Z is overpriced by $3grand, so the BRZ... A $20k car

I don't actively troll for cars to kill in my V, well maybe D-Bags in M3's and an occasional B8 S4, but spirited driving is fun and killing a FRS or BRZ would make me into a boosted bully. I got killed by a MILF in a X6M while I was out driving the Nismo one day. So it was either boost the Z or get the V. Getting killed by a MILF....ughhh. I went with the V as it was already boosted and I wanted a bit more room. A boosted Z versus a stock V, that would be interesting. I got it in December, with all the cold weather I have yet to really open it up since I have the Pilot Sports and they hate cold weather. I plan to take it to the strip this spring.

I personally like the looks of the BRZ/FR-S (but not compared to the FR-S concept). I actually was watching the development of the car for years when it was the ft86 but once they finally released the hp/tq/weight numbers I was turned off and went with the Z. Haven't experienced anyone try to line up next to me yet though lol.

Not at all, but I guess an objective conversation about the strengths/weaknesses of certain models isn't going to be found in a forum geared toward a specific model. You're right.

The BRZ is an excellent vehicle. It has it's weaknesses compared to the Z, just as the Z has its weaknesses compared to a Mustang 5.0, which is also an excellent vehicle. That's fine.

However, saying the BRZ is a "rear wheel drive corolla" is pure fanboyism, much like the resulting circlejerk.
