Mustang v6 track pkg with loaded pkg. $31,000 weight 3500lbs... 305hp Camaro v6 loaded rs pkg loaded @$32,500 weight 3700lbs... 323hp Nissan 370z v6 base/sport manual $36,500 3300lbs... 332hp Hyundai gencoupe v6 R-spec $30,500 3400lbs... 350hp And this v6 matches or gives 93% of the power of the v8 versions of the muscle cars while still being a v6. The Z is pricey by comparison. But you blame the car for things that are blatently your fault for not being savvy when you made the purchase The Z can be negotiated easier than the rest save for the mustang v6. it's easy to drop price on it. At least in my region. |

Z is a master of none but a jack of all trades. If you want it to be special in a certain area. It needs to be tweaked for that. You buy mustangs and they come ready to do one job and you buy it for that job. No worries. The Z is a different type of car. It will do all well but wont be the master at a specialized area till you tweak it. This is not a car for guys that expect out the box perfection. This car is a canvas for the personalized tuner.
In other words. This car wasn't designed for the masses. It was designed for a special group of people who understand the Z's "philosophy of use". (For all you TNP'ers out there...:icon17:) Quote:

The only difference between now and then is I decided a compromise between a 5.0 and s2000 is exactly what I want. And a loaded C7 is too expensive. :icon17: |

I do understand why it is easy to get frustrated with the Z after owning an S2000. In terms of the driving experience it's hard to match an S2000. It's a lightweight compared to the Z and its driving dynamics are extremely good. Clutch and transmission are perfection. Short of its EPS it's almost "perfect" as far as the overall feel goes.
But it's a royal PITA to live with day to day. And it's slow. |

It really isn't hard to imagine why I'd buy another one, though. I always said the Z is a very good compromise between a true sports car like the S2K and a more muscley car like the Mustang. I never hated the Z. I was disappointed with my '09, but the things that disappointed me seem to have been put to rest with the later models. Also, Midnight Blue. :yum: |

Perspective, my friends. Drive what you like. DO YOUR RESEARCH and make sure it's a good fit before you sign on the dotted line. ;) |
