Isn't traction one of the biggest issues with why the FI'd Z's haven't done that well? Most of them were on street tires anyway. Maybe some drag radials on some

Maybe some drag radials on some wide azz wheels along with a good driver will result in better times. Though there's only one person on here determined to make their 370Z a drag racing car and GT-R's are no where near having any nightmares yet

Slicks would be nice so as long as you trust the stock axles, I would think some modest drag radials and a longer first gear would be safer. The gearing of Z's is very much balanced around an N/A powerband. If you could stretch 1st gear to say 50mph it'd help consolidate the traction issues to one gear instead of fighting it for 2.

If I'm wrong I can only blame my newfound experience with heavenly 3.31 gears and only having to shift twice down the quarter, however 1st is really the only gear I'm thankful for.

I love how the mentality is on this forum now-a-days. If you give any car that isn't a Z props, you're hating on the Z.

Jesus.

This is awesome. The BRZ/FRS is a welcome addition to the sports car market in the US, and I'm really glad they're getting heavily modded so early on in their lifetime.

Bore/stroke totally different, decks are all open now IIRC (there were semi and closed variants of the EJ: those are the really good power ones, JDM STi and up).

When bore and stroke change, and the entire block and heads are different can you really say they are that much alike and the years of work and experience on the previous engines are all that significant?

Other then fitment...there is a lot of greenfield here methinks.

Damn only shifting twice? I'm at like 3-4 shifts by the time I cross the 1/4 mile. Last shift is close to the line but I forget whether it's before or after it.

Pretty sure my car with 8psi And 4.09 rear end would hang with that BRZ. 20 PSI on stock block. Watch for BRZ engine rebuild thread soon!

Again 20psi with a t25 is not the same as 20psi on a t62 or what ever turbo they choose....

I would be more forcused, since that havent listed the turbo off, on the whp number. Just over 100% increase from stock.

Havent even talked about drivability either. Suspect its on off switch with no bottom end.

Love to see it. I'd love to see a 370Z beat that time at the strip, with a posted slip. That would be very exciting.

Seems to be a tough concept for most here to grasp...

Excuse me, sir, but my 370z in Forza Motorsports was faster than a Z06 with all the mods I put on. And that game's a simulation of real life.
