Lol!!! Does it say 20 pounds??? How many people are running that kind of boost on their Z? Crank the boost to 20 on a Z and lets see what happens.

Probably something like this:

Yea and the FR will look the same after a while.

red6spd 09-07-2012 07:56 AM

Fact is at less then 10 pounds people are running close to what that did. Awesome build and congrats for beating their own record but I'm tired of reading all the hate on this forum.

Do you have any evidence that it can?

Who is running close? Much less at less than ten pounds...

You just posted the times on the previous page.

Fastest 370z is .436 behind. At the end of the quarter mile, that's about 80 feet away from the Subaru.

I also hope you know that psi isn't comparable between single turbo and twins(or different compressor sizes). CFM is what you need to compare.

red6spd 09-07-2012 08:38 AM

Listen I don't care all I was saying is I'm tired of the Z hating. A shop with unlimited resources build a car that's probably going to burst into flames soon because of the amount of boost they put in it but they don't care because its a shop and when it blows they can just build another. The Z's you listed are real normal people who don't have a unlimited amount of money to blow their Z up and build it 10 different times like this shop can. So don't come here (and I know it was not you) and cry about how the Z cant run those times bla bla bla and say what is clearly a heavily modded car 20psi turbo kit E85 is running faster then any Z can.

Impressive! That's pretty much what you expect to happen when you combine a light car with lots of power.

We still don't know how much that block can handle, but it's pretty cool how they're pretty much pushing it to the limit. I have a feeling it they probably need more time making it reliable, but you can't help but praise these guys for a job well done. I'm pretty sure making it reliable for DD with this much boost is going to take some upgrades to the internals. I'm curious at what the final price tag for such a set-up would actually cost.

The BRZ fanboys need to cool it with the bragging though. I don't think GT-R, Porsche or Ferrari owners really have a lot to "worry" about any more than the world's faster Civic.

Yes, Shop's normally have more money to spend on R & D. But this BRZ project hasn't been hitting the bank.

We're able to run high boost with this setup because of the e85.

Car is setup in the same type of configuration that I think be OK for a customer - as long as they had the e85.

Pumpgas at this power level would require a meth kit of some sort.

I have another shop with a very similar configure doing 20-30min track sessions at the same power level with out problem.

When EcuTek finally releases their 370z software with their advanced RaceRom features I'm sure you'll start seeing your z's going faster down the track.

This is not an "unlimited budget" build by any stretch

red6spd 09-07-2012 09:10 AM

I'm sure it did not cost a crazy amount, the point I'm getting at is you really don't care if it pops correct? If your going to do FI on a car that does not have it its wise to have some spare money just in case the motor goes but most the guys running FI on this forum do care if it pops and don't get to out of hand with the boost. What do you think the longevity is on a engine with a set like this? Your the expert but it don't seem long to me.

unlimited as Bam! the motor goes eh no big deal, bam the tranny pops eh no big deal, crap there goes the rear!

Where as the normal people on the forum with FI don't generally have the money to build/replace those things when the pop right away so they tend to not go as crazy.
