What do you think about the scion frs

I did these renderings for the Stillen FRS Body kit design contest. At least it looks fast, lol.

Thank you.

I think it's a decent looking little car. I think the price is pretty ambitious given the interior quality on the base car, but I'd like to see the inside of a BRZ Limited before I say it's really overpriced.

Performance wise, when I heard "200 HP" I was thinking "Uh, OK, so is it like 2300 lbs?" and when it came out at nearly 2800 I was quite disappointed.

But for crying out loud, the fanboys. I am so tired of hearing about how this car is perfect and an extra 50 HP would ruin the car. It's as if it's not a "driver's car" unless you can put a brick on the accelerator before you run it through some cones in a ******* parking lot.

The backwards logic is astounding to a point where I just can't even stand to listen to it anymore.

The **** of it is... the car only makes 150 lbft CRANK torque, and loses a whopping 20 lbft in the mid range -- with only 150 tq on tap, before drivetrain losses it cannot afford to plummet further.

This car desperately needs boost... but not in the minds of those whose last car was a 1996 Civic without a muffler -- to them this car is a big breasted wetdream come true

Oh... the humanity. The car is such a fucccccccking disapointment

But, yeah, if they had kept this at MX5 or MR2 weight, it would have been a whole different animal. Instead it's the logical upgrade from a Corolla -- barely

I don't know about the FRS, but the interior of the BRZ Limited -- upscale trim level -- looks pretty good from the pictures I've seen and my friends who have seen it in person agree.

My pre-order is supposed to come in early next week (scheduled Monday the 6th), so I guess I'll know for sure then. As for performance, it depends on what your are looking for. I'm not looking to replace my Z. Instead I'm replacing my commuter Mazda 3. The BRZ will be my go to work car and my Z will remain my weekend car.

So what if the Z is better. I'm not getting a second Z to drive on the weekdays so why should I limit myself to some 4 door front wheel drive econo box for commuting duties?

Also, I plan on tracking the BRZ -- I can't really do that with my roadster (probably could but I'd have to slouch to make sure the helmet is below the top of the roll bar). But the BRZ will cost half as much in maintenance to track and it's also much slower so I'm less likely to kill myself.

I'd rather have a GTI, and that is FWD.

BRZ interior looks pretty nice; FR-S looks like a typical cheap, practical(read:lame) interior.

Same here. I just cannot stand those fanboys' claim like it's the purest sports car ever. Give me a break. As they keep saying it's the spiritual successor of AE86. Guess what? AE86 was a freaken Corolla. that's it, and those fanboys made the AE86 like it was Skyline GT-R.

I was looking for a DD and decided to go with the new FWD Focus ST over these. Much better DD AND will eat their lunch in the performance area. These two are just overpriced for what you are getting.

I've got a friend with a GTI and while they are cheap to mod to pretty high levels -- with very little money you can get Golf R HP output out of them, they just don't do it for me. They may be better now, but I drove one in 2007 before I bought my Mazda and I wasn't very impressed.

I'm not into the "hot hatch" style so those sort of cars are not really in the running for me.

I don't get it. The whole point of buying a $25K car is to sink $10K into it to make it perform like a $30K car?!?

The whole point was to have an alternative to the miata, not the z. This car would make more sense five years from now, when you can buy a used one for under $10k. That's what makes the miata so great to track. If you look at the number of average miatas on track days, they're usually not brand spankn new. It is overpriced right now, but just think about all the people who will flood the market when they decide to get rid of it. Resale is gonna be crap, but awesome if you're the market for a cheap track car....just like the miata.

That's not my plan, but for people who like to mod that might be preferable. Remember, someone who is gonna mod doesn't always buy the car then turn around and buy 10k worth of mods and install them. They buy the mods bit by bit over the course of years perhaps. Also people get a lot of enjoyment out of modifying/personalizing their car. For them, it might be very worth it to spend 5k more on a modded car to get the same performance as another model stock

Saw one the other day on the streets. Nice looking car but definitely not worth the price tag. Of course this is geared at all the kids that we all used to be, modding civics, etc. And even those goofy dodge neons later on lol. But that's because we can actually afford nice cars now that the whole concept seems a bit silly.

I like it a lot. If I were in the market for a practical 4 seater t would be close to the top.
