If I were in the market for another vehicle to take over DD duties, this would be at the top of a very short list. If they offered it in an AWD versioni, I would probably sell my Z for it.

I look at it as a practical grocery-getter that will blow the doors off the new BRZ/FR-S for less money.

I was convincing the hell out of my friend to wait for this car but he ended up snagging a 13 genesis 2.0t. Can't really blame him.

Don't forget the free smoke from every K04 turbo in every purchase! Seriously, I was just about 95% convinced on the speed3 until the ST reviews started trickling in.

Not a bad car. Little less practical/versatile than an ST, but still not bad.

um...DD = Daily Driver. Not much for under 24K can touch it performance-wise AND carry as many groceries/kids/grandma's old CRT TV!

I've been looking pretty hard at the ST for quite awhile now, pretty damn good performance and economy, these are available in Germany in an AWD version, why the FVCK wont they release that in the states?

nope. There are rumors that the next Focus RS may get AWD but none have it yet. The ST certainly won't be getting it anytime soon.

Sporty RS Based On 2012 Ford Focus May Get Hybrid AWD System

As far as the ST, it almost exactly matches the Mazdaspeed 3 (even has the same frame, I believe). If you've looked at what the tuners have done to that platform, it's nothing short of amazing what a few dollars can buy you in performance. I'd assume a higher volume Ford product would be even better in a year or two.
