1) Z06: Easy to fall in love with the power but I can't get over the build quality. Banks don't like it much either.
2)Viper: If it was the new new new one, I'm in but that's not possible. I drove one a looooong time ago, before the newer 600hp. Its a psycho car but I will never be able to get the most out of it. Damn wide as well.
3) 911 Turbo: The ones in my price range scare the hell out of me because I really want one and they are really awesome but no warranty and more than "slightly" used are not helping.
4) M3, a great overall car, but I loved the e46 M3 so much and never got one, the e92 doesn't give me the same feeling. On a personal note, I spent so much time with the Z striving to chase and surpass an m6 e92 M3, I feel weird about it. Still its high on the list of candidates.
5) Boxster S: What a great car!
6) 1M: Wow, but the looks are ehhh, the most n/a feeling turboed car I've ever driven.
7) M Roadster: with the heart of an e46 M3 this is my current #1
8) Lotus Exige S: My heart is still racing.

This is not as easy as I thought...

if you want something rare, then the exige S would probably be most rare followed by the 1M and M roadster.

The dream project would be the e30 M3 that one of the mechanics I know personally is hiding at his shop. It still has the original 4cyl and is in need of a resto but he won't sell. Most recently I saw a guy offer him $10,000.00 cash and he said nope.

Since you have a practical vehicle, I'd consider an all out toy. A used race car, a Lotus 7/Caterham, an Ariel Atom, a used Shelby Cobra, or something like that.

Also, a beater off road subie or Raptor might be fun if you would have fun trying off-road or rally racing out for a few years.

And the winner is....2008 Lotus Exige S Club Racer 1/20 in the US, 1/50 worldwide. The color isn't for everyone, its baby blue with black stripe but remember I am coming from a Carbon Fiber with a dash of Solid Red Z. It was listed a bit over my budget but after going back and forth with the dealership, specifically the owner who owns the dealership I got a very good deal. Comes with a bunch of extras including a full set of new SSR forged wheels and tires. My only gripe is that it is 220hp not the 240hp but my research shows that a tune (albeit a pricey one) will yield 275bhp. Previous owner was nice enough to provide me with carfax, service history, many pics and list of extras and spoke to the Lotus Dealer who always serviced it. Has 3511 miles and arrives Wednesday. Will probably start a new thread, if you guys want, with pics.

Thanks bud, waiting for the first person to say,"great car but the color is horrible." Haha

It's a pretty nice color, IMO. That's the kind of car that can pull off anything.
