I'm on the same boat now. I've never owned an American car or any big displacement car for that matter. Seems like the Mustang 5.0 fits the bill that it can also handle. So very tempting to test drive but I'm a sucker for not being able to resist good offers.

And...there you have it. I've finally switched to the dark side. First American car I've ever owned...2012 Boss 302 #2557 :ughdance:

I'm not dissing the Nismo or anything but this car gives me a "holy sh.." feeling when I drive it. Biggest grin on my face from driving a car so far.

in all honesty, I think its the best gear choice if you want a little bit of low end torque while maintaining some kind of fuel economy, also not too short of a gear if you plan on doing a high horsepower build. It's the happy medium really and i'm very happy I decided to go with it.

KillerBee370 04-10-2012 10:34 AM

I think it's a great car. Upon getting rid of my Z, I was seriously looking in the direction of the GT or possibly the new GT500. But in the end, I also got rid of my SUV so I needed a 4 door.

Sure it's a little bigger and heavier than the Z, but then so is my M3

It's been raining lately so I'll post pics soon. Yea, I actually was looking for used M3 but I got a good rate for a new car and I wanted to try a big displacement American car. I love the Recaro seats. Now I feel like I belong in a Skittles commercial about oxymorons...an Asian guy driving an American muscle car, :bowrofl::roflpuke2:

Now you need to figure out a way to combine your cars to make them more like you, half asian and half redneck :bowrofl:

Sweet, that's the one to get! Well, I'd rather get the LS, but the markup on it is obnoxious.

ImportConvert 04-26-2012 10:04 AM

Only thing I see is it has more power. BTDT, I would still pick the 370Z again. The 2015 mustang, though, remains to be seen. Why buy a last-model when the new one is coming out so soon? Continue to build equity or enjoy your payed off 370Z until such a time as you can make a revolutionary upgrade instead of an evolutionary, debatable one.

m4a1mustang 04-26-2012 10:07 AM

2014 is not soon. For most people, it's no big deal to buy what they want now then get something new in two years instead of wait two years on the hope that what they could buy then will be an improvement over what's available now. Of course, by the time 2015 comes people will be talking about 2017... then 2019... then 2021.

Buy what you want, whenever you want it. Anything else is boring. :)

Nikkolai 04-26-2012 10:55 AM

I'm in enemy territory if I elaborate on why I got rid of the Z. It's not just the power either. I'm not the type that waits around the corner for something new. There's always something better coming up around the corner, no getting around that. I wonder if Ford will stay true to their roots with only building the Boss 302 for two years 2012-2013 just like 1969 and 1970. *ahem, Nismo "limited edition" run of 4 yrs
