base corvette will be about $50-55k right? thats fine and dandy but you most likely wont have the magnectic ride control, the 5 mode adjustable performance set up, most likely bigger brakes, etc... by the time you spend on options or a Z51 package it'll be $65-75K. for that i still think i'd drop 90K on a GTR which will spank the vette and more than likely the Z06 version whenever it comes out. the C7 is still a beautiful car and strongly make me question my future car plans lol |

seriously though he has a 2009, his dad has a 2008, his mom has a 2007, and his sister has a 2010. :shakes head: |
I think $65k is a reasonable expectation for Z51 with magnetic ride. Might be a little on the high side.
But it still pales in comparison to the GTR's $99,xxx base price. Big difference between 65k and 100k! The real comparison will be the C7 ZR1 and GTR, which should be similarly priced. |

i really feel like the base vette will be about 55k and the z51 65-70k. in the end i can go get a new GTR for 90k and be miles ahead performance wise. but damn the new vette looks sexy which yet again is making me question things lol |

Don't get me wrong, I love the GT-R. I'm just being realistic with these comparisons.
|
overall, i dont think price should play into car comparisons so much. It should depend on the market / intent of the car.
You compare the GTR to a 911 turbo S and the ferrari's etc because thats the goal Nissan set out for. The ZR1 is the competitor for the GTR, not the base corvette. Its like comparing the bmw m3 to the v6 stang, when really the boss is the m3 competitor. Why would you do that? |

Also, its different for each person, but i don't want a gtr. I'd take the base corvette over a gtr even if the gtr was the same price. |
Quote:
but technically you saying GTR should be with the 911 and ferrari that actually is basing it a bit on price. |

I dont care about your personal preferences. State that you would rather have a GTR is fine. But when you say the GTR costs 15k more than a 75k base corvette is the ******** because the base corvette isnt 75k and a new GTR isnt 90k. |
Quote:
also based on your statement there is you bias right there. you wouldnt show any love for the car based on personal opinion so no matter what its a one sided argument. |
Not to mention cost to own on the GTR is astronomical compared to a vette.
That is the real kicker. |

a v6 mustang with nav is still a base mustang. |

is this concept that hard? i dont feel like i'm speaking in tongues when i said the Z51 will be more money with much more parts and options that the base will not have. |
Let's try this again. A Z51 is like a BE GT-R. Yes it's a performance options package and increases the price, but still pretty much the same model. It's not like a higher model of the GT-R.
|
GTR = Z06/ZR1 territory
Base Vette = No comparable Nissan entrant No intelligent argument to be made here yet. |
I will say, now that we are back on topic, I am impressed by the paint colors I have seen so far.
Also, not going to lie, I watched some kid drive on the nurburgring on gran turismo on that youtube. I admit it. :icon17: |
