Despite the rear, like it. Rear actually looks a little better in these pics with the lower half in black. I could see this being a great track car for me once the used inventory shows up in 2-3 yrs

After a busy sunday with my wife, I had almost forgot that today is Vette revelation day. I jumped on here right now cuz I figured there would be first pics. I don't know what the specs are yet, and i'm hoping they will be very impressive. The interior is awesome and love the wraparound cockpit. It embodies what a Corvette cockpit should look like. Very high quality.

The exterior. As it stands right now... It looks like a "High Priced Rice-Mobile"... Not impressed. That style without a revision soon will wear thin fast. Too much garbage going on in the back. Too many contrasting carbon pieces everywhere making for a loud confusing look. If i were to purchase this car based on performance-ONLY... I would see BLACK as the color of choice to HIDE the ridiculous riceness of the body. NOT happy with the Taillights @ all. The taillights actually piss me off.

GM either gets the interior or the exterior right... They almost never get both. DISAPPOINTING!!
I will now go looking for specs...

All we know so far is 450hp/450lb-ft, sub 4.0 0-60, and 1+ G skidpad.

Cant convince the wife to go from 2 seat car to 2 seat car

I couldn't convince my wife to buy a cheaply made, American made car. Even though, it looks to be very good value for the money.

There are many objective reviews by a trio from England on this model's previous incarnations. Will the new one meet the standard?

Cheaply made American cars...Yeah I don't like BMWs much either.

I like what they done to the interior and the engine sounds awesome. 450 lbs of torque on a lighter chassis??? DAMN... Excited to see this engine in the lighter iteration of the camaro in 2015. :tup:

Well, Chevrolet revealed the 2014 Corvette at 7pm tonight. They are bringing it back with the Stingray nameplate. What's your thoughts?? I think I'm in live with the car..Attachment 61053

That looks great MC. I am going to have to see a few of the colors in person to make a decision. I'm a sucker for red so that's what will probably happen, however I'm not a fan on black wheels on red cars. I'd prefer gunmetal.

I'm hoping they also offer a dark metallic blue. Haven't had that color in a while, and two red cars might be too much.

I just read this Here it is: the new Chevrolet Corvette - BBC Top Gear and then realized I was late to the party here on the forum but to add my thoughts, whether a fan or not imho its great to be able to root for this and the men and women that will build them.... Stingray yay!

Just noticed this, and I'm not sure if it has been mentioned yet, but the passenger gets their own climate control screen. If you look at the interior shot you can see it right underneath the passenger AC vent. Pretty neat. :tup:

Not sure if I like the nav facing so much away from the passenger. I know it's for the driver but its better for the passenger to play with it then the driver...

As a driver I hate the passenger fiddling with anything in the center console, nav included. It should be driver focused, IMO. Plus solo trips > trips with a passenger.

90% of the time, it'll be the driver who is cajiggering it. I like cars whose cockpits are designed around the driver.

Regardless, I'm in love with it. I may have to get one.

Im loving the new C7 design except for the low grade camaro tail lights...so sexy might start saving and turning to the darkside

Wow, this is the first reveal that has blown me away like this in a very long time. I love the interior, and the exterior is stunning.

Reading through the autoblog article and the press release+pictures, there were just a few things I didn't already like:
Lower rear end design
That the auto isn't a dual clutch
and that the wheels aren't wider

They did state that it could pull over 1 g, but launching without launch control could be hard.

I'm really impressed by the attribute adjustability, all the weight loss statistics, interior, and how track focused it seems. The track pack has additional transmission, diff, and brake cooling. If they keep anything close to current price points, this will probably be the next car I buy.

Their reporting is mostly entertainment, if you're referring to Top Gear.

And they absolutely loved the C6 Z06. I watched the review before I started shopping them. Clarkson also advocated the C6 ZR1 in both their salt flat special and during their review against the Audi R8

Think we knew about synchro rev match before most people did. :tiphat: I got unusual attention being a 370z owner at vette driving school last month. also sounds like all braking and traction control systems are much improved over C6.

The car will be released in early August at Spring Mountain track in NV.will be an invitational event.

I think it's funny everyone is obsessing over styling. It essentially has same or better structure as outgoing Zo6. Pretty much makes Zo6 obsolete. This cars capabilities and handling will make it a real superstar. If a car ever needed rev match Vettes do! It's sort of a gimmick on the Z but with vette with odd pedal placement to keep brake pedal and accelerator separated its nice not to have to make that awkward heal toe.

betcha theres companies already working on overlays to turn those rear tails into circles again.

The nice thing about Corvettes is the extensive aftermarket.

I won't lie, the back end is way too busy. And the front end looks very much like the Viper, but then again, when the C6 first came out, the front end was reminiscent of an SRT Viper from that time period.

But the car looks fantastic imo. And if it does make the Z06 obsolete, then it's as good an upgrade as C5 to C6 was, which nearly made the C5 Z06 obsolete.
