Like everyone has said; the looks are meh, the power is lacking and the price isn't that low. The Z is hands down sexier and if you were to downgrade to the BRZ / FRS you'd miss the extra HP and LB quickly. I like the idea behind the car and know if will sell well as long as the keep the price down.
I won't be out of my Z until I can afford a $60k+ car in which case i'd look at the 2013 Cayman which is going to be super sexy due to the new roof life: Redirect Notice or of course the GTR :) |
i might sell my RX7 FD for 2014 turbo BRZ hmmm

I would think both companies wait to observe how well the base models sell during their first year, then go forward with higher performance versions.
|
I don't think they will either, but not because of that. The GTR is just a monster with ridiculous handling and performance all around not just a lot of power. People who buy GTRs want that very top tier all around performance, the absolute best (within monetary reason). Even a tt Z which puts out GTR hp won't take a GTR on the track still.

personal test-drives
I would be curious to hear from anyone who first test-drives a FR-S or BRZ when they arrive at dealerships. . . what their impressions were of the car and how much fun it was to drive (?)

Nissan seems to know what they wanted the 370z to be as well as placing the GTR on a higher level. |
