using a diverter valve... and an in cabin control knob...

Have to fight GM for the patent, my car came with similar. Sounds great and I have NOT missed having an obnoxious car all the time while at the same time it's loud enough at WOT that my Dad heard it clearly through a mile and a half of trees as I was merging onto the interstate leaving his house the other day.

I really think this kind of setup is the wave of the future. It's just the best of both worlds all the time.

I love the quiet-as-my-G20 cruising, and then when I nail it the flaps open up and it is loud as hell. It's running straights at that point, basically. Also worth a 20whp or so bump when those flaps open at around 3200rpm. You can see it on a dyno graph and feel it in your SOTP. Then you get off the gas, and it sounds like a machine-gun, or if you watch this crap, a NASCAR.

Definitely something I think other manufacturers will make their own versions of.

^There is flaps closed, and flaps open. He looks to only be revving to about 3500-4K at highest. The crackles on decel start for me at around 4500-5K.

I've seen it done, never well.

I tried it on my s, but open headers vs straight pipe that fell off didn't change sound much.

On a scale from 0-10?

From 0-10 I would put the stockers at 3. FRPPs are at 8. GT500 is somewhere in between stock and FRPP.

Red's setup is probably like a 13.
