As far as GT/CS fascia, I like it too, plus Boss splitter. But I think for now, my mods are in GT500 plus MGW shifter. Maybe next year I will get the fascia. Stock will have to do for now. Why don't you like it? Quote:
Thanks for props on the color! I fell in love with it when I saw it in person. It was either kona, black, or candy red. You ever see the movie DRIVE? Just came out (might still be in theaters) not too long ago. The one with Gosling. You will laugh, but that movie came out the time I was contemplating trading in the Z for the 5.0. That movie literally pushed me over the edge. The black 5.0 on there looked so hot. It was a simple stock 5.0 with Brembo I believe. That week, I traded it in. But then I saw kona in person, boom, done, sold. :) Quote:

But so far so good. Real nice stuff. I am also 100% keeping my Konis and will be doing full suspension when things thaw out in the spring. |
looks sweet.
apparently I'm gonna have to save up to compete on the dragon next year :rofl2: |
It's an arms race. :icon17:
My goal is to have everything ready in time for ZDayZ next year. I will probably swap the current pads out for DS2500s when we go, though, as I drive fast enough there to overheat the Hawk HPS. |

Also, a friend of mine brought his 5.0 out to our Sunday sports car show this morning. He's got a Procharger and is around 550whp. He's doing some upgrades soon to push it to 650whp. Crazy guy, but his car is sweet.
He also has fit 285/35s on the back and they look fine. I know they are out of spec (max width tire manufacturers recommend on a 9" wide wheel is a 275) but they look fine. I took some pics and will upload in a bit. |

I am still on the stockers. They are going to be fine until spring. They are coming off sometime next month and the winters are going on. |

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-8...0/IMG_9976.JPG https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-V...0/IMG_9971.JPG A little bit of bulge but it looks totally healthy. I wouldn't run any wider but I think if you wanted to, you could fit 285s. The only problem for me is that 285s are said to rub up front, and I want to run a square setup. On the blue car, he's running stock size up front. Here's the Procharger setup. Very clean. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-U...0/IMG_9965.JPG |

damn that's a clean-*** car.
those 285s look like they fit great. |
Yeah his car is super clean. One of the nicest looking ones I've seen around.
|
i want a kona car.
also a procharger. |
i'm thinking about going with a staggered setup and just adjusting suspension to compensate. I feel like i need more tire out back...but I'm worried about messing up the balance.
|
That would be pretty easy. You could run a bigger bar and/or spec some stiffer rear springs.
I agree though that if you are really concerned with putting the power down some wider rear wheels and tires would help. |
i think it would help a lot with putting down the power. have to think about it a little.
|
It would. What tire sizes out back are you thinking?
Given the stock balance of the car I think you have some wiggle room in terms of how much stagger you can run without dialing in too much understeer. Sam Strano runs a square setup but with his spring and damper package he likes to take the rear bar down a bit to dial out some of the oversteer. My guess is a car on Konis, any Steeda spring package, and conservative front camber could remain fairly neutral even with 40mm of total stagger or so. Which to me would mean 275 front and 285-305 rear. |

if I'm being honest, I think the car needs a bit more rear grip even from the factory, at least with my skill/attention level. I notice it's not tough to get the *** out with just a light lift, which I am often not prepared for since it rides so smooth all the time....I think a slightly reduced rear slip angle would be pretty helpful... |
You're right about the dampers. That's why Sam takes the rear bar down.
Regarding the oversteer with lift... welcome to Mustang. That's something that is just going to be there regardless of what you do with the car. You can tone it down, but you're better off not lifting. ;) |

I drove my aunt's 07 for a while when I was in fl, and you had to completely lift before it would step out...the balance on this one makes it a little quicker to go. I had an experience where traffic stopped suddenly on an offramp, and things got a little scary. thought i was back in an ap1:icon17: |

:ohsnap1: And if the rear steps out, just compensate with steering. Simple! :rofl2: |
Dan I suggest you get some 225 fronts and 305 rears and disconnect the rear bar. Wouldn't want you to hurt yourself. :bowrofl:

Yeah. You are are making it sound like it's rocket science or something. You just have to keep it in the back of your head that the rear could step out at any time if you are an idiot.
|
Also, if you do ultimately conclude that you are a pansy and can't handle a little oversteer, there are plenty of options out there to dial the car in to make your candy arse comfortable and safe. :icon17:
