Congrats on the new ride man, it looks awesome, although, given the chance, I definitely would have gone the Boss route:tup:

First things first, uncork that stock exhaust. Next, either a JLT/Airraid/Steeda CAI/Tune is a must. And if you really wanna melt faces and turn heads, an offroad H/X pipe (X pipe is nasty raspy so I went with an H). If you want a bit more engine noise in the cabin, you can remove the foam from inside the sound tube as well. Do this and you'll be sitting well into the 400's at the wheel.

BTW, the new Hurst short throw looks amazing, a little on the expensive side but it reminds me of old 60's era drag muscle.

There is a lot of criticism about the Hurst shifter for the lack of a reverse lockout. I'd never use that one.

Has MGW come out with theirs yet? I know they were building an entire new mount assembly.

theres no reverse lockout? It does come with an LED indicator so you can tell that you're in reverse, so thats better than nothing. Didnt know MGW had one coming out.

GaleForce 09-16-2011 08:35 AM

Hey, I noticed a few things wrong with your Z

1.Someone put 5.0 on the fender
2.The floor mats say Mustang
3.The Shifter knob has reverse in the wrong location

My best guess is, someone pull a bad prank on you. It's ok, we're here to help you through this tough time. :bowrofl:

Seriously, nice ride! Your pics turned out really good too! More pics!!!

Yeah, no lockout which is a big deal when 1st and Reverse are essentially in the same place. Not a smart design, IMO.

I think both Steeda and Barton would be better options than the Hurst... I'll give it an A+ for looks, though. But as far as function I would never use one.

Regarding MGW, they have had something in the works for a while. I'm not sure if it's available yet or not, but it's supposed to replace the entire shifter and mount assembly.

Just did a search, it's available. Here's a comprehensive review: SVTPerformance MGW Omnibus : MGW MT-82 Shifter Preview, Install, and Review - SVTPerformance

I am going to need to look into this. MGW is a proven company and have made some great shifters in the past.

Well ZDayZ really isn't concerned about college kids, since most everyone that goes either:

1) has already graduated

or 2) skips finals

FWIW, schools in VA have finals in early May. ;)

No prob. Nothing is more important than zdayz:roflpuke2:

Red--I'm not a big fan of the value proposition on the boss, at least for my goals.

I'm the same way. You can match the Boss' handling with $1500 in suspension upgrades while retaining a fully functional interior.

They dinged the 370 pretty hard for the oil and brake heating issues. As far as performance, it finished very high. But they thrashed the crap out of it and experienced brake fade (with the akebonos no less) and limp mode.

I get their point, but Z owners know that if you're going to the track, you have to vent those brakes and cool that oil for long runs, and that can be done aftermarket.

Mustang fared very well, which is no surprise to me, but may be a shock to the "SRA = fail" crowd

Any of those top 4 cars is a great value IMO.

Surprised the door quality bonus points for the Miata didn't give it the win.

its not like its expensive to address these issues anyway...if your a real track head this would already be on somesort of upgrade list! the 5.0 and the 370 are by far my fav cars in thier price bracket, the top 2 contenders:tiphat:

Some of us had reservations for a cabin for next year before we left ZdayZ this year. ;)

Alchemy 09-16-2011 05:51 PM

^So tell me, should I be reserving a room ahead of time or do you think there will still be rooms if I book sorta last minute??

You definitely want to book a room ahead of time. If you can book one now, that's the best.

Most people reserve their room for the next year when they are checking out of their room for the current year. :icon17:

Save me a spot in your room until I can confirm whether I'll be able to go or not. Probably around January whenever I figure out my exact class schedule and they release the Spring semester calendar.

I might be bringing my gf this year though so I might not be able to do that. :icon17:

If not I will definitely make room for you. We can share a bed. :yum:

Depends... they have 1, 2, and 3br cabins from what I remember. The 1br's start at $160/night based on the ZDayZ rate from this year.

FWIW, I feel like the Lodge overall is a nicer place to stay. Cleaner. And you have easy access to the Lounge which has a wifi connection if you need internet access.
