Yeah, check out the M boards. I remember coming across a thread where a guy put a few hundred miles on his car and the motor blew. It turned into a gigantic thread thereafter, with people claiming similar issues (but with more mileage). The crazy thing is that this isn't uncommon for an M3. The E46 M3 from 2001-2003 had an issue with spun bearings that axed the motor.
