Heres one. Just happened 3 days ago. My sister who is 23 years old, and has been driving since she was 15 was broke and ran out of gas. Instead of calling anyone in the family she decided to put SODA into the gas tank. Why in the world she would think this would work is beyond me. She drives a saturn of all things so the car is gimped to begin with. Needless to say the car didnt start and is sitting in my parents garage and now they have to drive her to work etc. She said she thought the sugar in the gas tank thing was a myth. I am comletely dumb founded.

There was a guy from my old car club who forgot to refill his Scion TC with oil during an oil change. Engine seized up a short while later.

Also had a "friend" in high school who forgot to put a new oil filter back on before refilling.

When I was a little kid I filled a super-soaker with 7-UP and sprayed the side of my parent's van. In the middle of the summer.
