The 4 banger will most likely be very close to 280hp and I know for sure 333hp is confirmed for the genesis sedan. I think the genesis coupe may be tuned into the 340's?? I say this only because the current genesis sedan 3.8 gets 290hp while the gencoupe gets 306/312prem. So it might get tuned a little further again into the 340-350range. MTspeculated the 6dct for the gencoupe this year and the 333hp is based on the 8 speed traditional auto. If the gencoupe gets DI and DCT, I would expect higher numbers for sure. One other thing, if the gencoupe makes minor suspension tweaks and widens the r spec and track tires along with that HP/TQ bump. Expect a hyundai to be serious comp and not the fly by night "Meh its a hyundai and not real sports car" many dismiss it as.
Anyway, the Z is my favorite car. I just hope that lackluster Z sales doesn't affect nissan in terms of making a more powerful Z. Honestly guys,I haven't heard anything about the Z except for a few sketches and some hybrid diesel crap. And that kinda news does nothing for enthusiasts.
I'm praying nissan does something for both Z and G. Honestly, the G37ipl is a joke. It should have been the G37s and sold at 46k max Instead of 51k max. Its decisions like these that will make nissan fall apart in the enthusiast segment. The skyline needs to be more skyline and less pseudo luxury.

Nissan definitely needs to step it up if they want to stay competitive. I think there is a new version of the G37 coming for the 2012 model year. The IPL G37 was definitely a disappointment IMO. It's pretty much like a Nismo 370Z compared to a non-Nismo. They added a body kit and a little more power, should have just called it the G37 Nismo. It's not really competing with anything where it's at. It's nowhere near anything like BMW's M division or Mercedes AMG.

Smile the good old days are right now

It's never been a better time to be an enthusiast.

These are the best cars ever made ( with very few and very expensive exceptions)

Particularly in terms of bang for the buck this is just a great time.

We win no matter what.

If Nissan steps up we can hope wait and dream about the new Z

If not we own a rare Z and we mod

I'm glad Hyundai is pushing the competition

It's very good

I agree, the fact that they are making the Genesis Coupe with 333 hp is great for the next generation Z ( i just dont want it to look like a Z ). This puts pressure on Nissan to deliver on the next model, who knows we may end up seeing the next Z with a new engine, with more horsepower. Lets wait and see over the next few months, it would be great to hear about the next gen.

Same deal with Aero and Veyron. Aero made a car with 10hp more than then the veyron. And bugatti made another that's only 6hp more? I don't know the exact numbers. The gen coupe forums were always comparing their cars to ours.

If Nissan were to fit a v8 in the Z it would bump the price dramatically. I don't know where they'd get such a motor either. BMW has had highly tuned V8's for years. I'm sure the Nissan engineers could easily build a high revving v8 but it would take some time. And as sick as it would be, I doubt there's a way to put the GT-R motor in the Z. It would eliminate manual transmission as an option and would be nearly impossible to drive in stock trim with rwd. They'd need to add brembo/stop-tech brakes also to handle that power, which would also increase the price. A stage 1 GTM SC will put down nearly 400 whp for around $7500 installed, which would be around $40,000 total assuming a base sport model. You'll retain a tremendous amount of drivability and the linear powerband. I dont think there's much more nissan can do to make more than 350-360 bhp out of the box while maintaing the price range.

Two words: Direct Injection. There were some rumors going around that the Z was gonna go the DI route and said that bhp was around the 360 range. This is how the Gen coupe got its power bump, so it's not crazy to expect the same for the Z. I don't think Nissan would ever offer a SC with the Z. If they do choose to go the FI route it will most definitely by TT. I don't think they would ever go TT on the 370Z though, it would make it too easy to make it more powerful than the GT-R. Maybe when they introduce the next gen GT-R and it blows the current one away, they get let the Z have TT without having to worry about it potentially hurting GT-R sales.
