other factors

gas mileage - 600-800 miles of commuter per month
switching between street and track setup
scraping the bottom of the car on speed humps at work parking lot.

so I think I will buy a CRZ. Also thinking of selling my texas rollback trailer and getting an enclosed one, and just storing the Z in the trailer.
mdbrich has a CRZ, might want to check with him

I like the looks, and I don't need a lot of power in a DD, plus the mileage is a plus. I think with all the turmoil in the ME we might be looking at $5-6/gal. gas soon. With USAA pricing, a base model is 19100. I lose bluetooth, xenon headlights and a subwoofer, and a couple other small things

from the EX model, but I'm going to be moving my aftermarket setup out of the Z into the 'Z' anyways.

other than the possibility of rims and springs, no real mods for it.

Are you against something like a Honda Fit or Mazda 3?

I might be in the minority here, but I like the CRZ. A coworker has one, and they're nice little cars.

I think I just really want to try a hybrid, and every other hybrid is boring.

If you really are looking for a hybrid then I think the CR-Z is a great choice actually. Personally, I'm not big on hybrids but if you are then it's the only one I think is worthwhile.

How about a Mini Cooper instead? Or a Ford Fiesta?

I know you want a hybrid but I would consider a Mazdaspeed 3. It's got good power, turbo, trunk space, enough interior room, and it gets good gas mileage. My friend has one and I have to say it is pretty peppy. Since its a turbo it gets great mpg when you're just cruising. A lot of people criticize its looks, but trust me it grows on you. You can even get nav for it.

Nissan Juke gets my vote. Much, much more fun than a CR-Z and better equipped base. Both cost virtually the same.
