I really think the addition of a hybrid motor could be a good thing. We've only seen hybrids designed to boost economy, not power, and there are some insanely fast all electric cars so we shouldn't discredit the tech. Would having an addition 50 hp from a small motor on tap whenever we want it be such a bad thing? Hell, the battery could be small since we don't necessarily need the motor running the whole time.
