In many cases, that's true. Although, my '87 GT was fully functioning when I sold it. The power locks/windows, wipers, hvac, etc. all worked from day one. Though a bit of a rattle trap, no interior parts fell off into my lap. I'm not rough with my things, so that probably helped a little.

The car certainly could have been built/finished better...no argument there. However, today's American cars have better build quality, reliability and rigidity than their ancestors. I have no qualms about buying American, today.

My 88GT was in great shape when I bought/got rid of it. Everything worked, except the fox-lamps would over-load the circuit (later corrected by Ford in '93). Windows, everything. Was impressed! The interior was also crack-free, etc. Looked mint. Had lots of miles, etc.

Spend some time reading through the threads.

But American cars, as well as european cars, tends to give so much problem for the long term use. And I personally think American cars doesnt look as nice as other cars. This is why I wouldnt want to own a American made car. And again, this is my personal opinon and based on my experience. No offence to any American car owners ;)

I was actually in the Market for the 5.0 Mustang and was in love with the horsepower and the interior of the car. I test drove the car and was very impressed with the power.

But I was fortunate enough to visit my local Nissan dealership; once I laid eyes on the Rays Wheel I fell in love with the car. In the end the styling of the 370Z is far better then that of Mustang. Plus count the number of mustangs you see on the road and count the number of 370z you see in a day, and you will see the vast difference. The Z turns heads by it looks, the Mustang you have to make a lot of noise to do so. If weren't for the 370Z I would be a proud Mustang owner.

Hope you enjoy your new Z.

Honestly you can't go wrong with either car.

A lot of people forget that the Mustang never was a muscle car. It was a pony car where handling was important. It kind of lost its way for a while but it started to come around with the 2005s and now it's back with the 2010+ chassis.

The GTOs and Chevelles were the real muscle cars back then.

Steve, I think you're forgetting the "Live Rear Axle". Therefore, all your points are moot.

You should drive one of the Brembo equipped cars. :stirthepot:

The regular ones are pretty nice but throw in some stiffer springs/shocks, GT500 control arms, and PZero summer rubber and it's pretty much the same as the 370. :yum:
