I can't get over the fact they are offering a Torsen LSD w/Recaros as an option. OMG.

god man, as much as I hate to admit it, as soon as the mark up on these things goes down, i might just end up taking one for a test drive...

If I can test one, and get around the ADMs, I'll likely be upgrading. This is a very special model for the Blue Oval.

even the regular GT, if you can get one w/o a dealer markup, one of the best steals in the entire automotive industry, dated styling out the door, that car is a damn good buy.

You can get them at or under invoice very easily.

Hmm, that sucks. They are in supply in my area.

Hell, even when I bought my Z right when they came out there were only a couple in the area. Mine was the only red touring/sport in the DC metro area and I paid 1k under invoice! The dealer had a $5k market adjustment on the car... I cut through that very quickly.

You have USAA, no? Just use their car buying service to find your car.

Until they get one in OKC, i wont be test driving one. I'm sure they have them in Dallas but i'm not driving 4 hours for a test drive, booooo. And no USAA, their customer service is crap.

Red370 08-13-2010 01:29 PM

Well, for one, those are MSRP prices... so knock a few grand off of those.

Second, you can option the hell out of a GT so the price ranges vary. A premium package GT with options will very well MSRP over 35k.

the MSRP for the base is 30k with an invoice of 27.5k, none of those are anywhere near that price.

Gotcha. That sucks.

Their car buying service is great, though. They'll get you invoice or lower at their participating dealers... no haggling.

I did not check every one on the list but I would venture to guess that most of them have the premium package and are optioned.

All the GT's locally seem to be premiums. My guess is that package is first on all the dealer order lists. If you wait a while I'm sure more and more base models will pop up.

fullmonty 08-13-2010 01:51 PM

I'm trading in the Z for that son of a bitch

Red370 08-13-2010 01:54 PM

I will say though, I wonder how they sacrifice 10 ft/lbs for 30 more hp...

It says in the article. The new intake and cams are tuned to maximze power in the upper band. This car is designed as a track car for the street so low-end torque doesn't matter as much... it's all about making power in the top end which is where the engine is going to spend most of it's time.

Red370 08-13-2010 01:58 PM

ah thanks for clearing that up, i dont like to read much, i'm a numbers guy

m4a1mustang 08-13-2010 02:05 PM

No prob.

Also keep in mind, when you test the car you'll feel more body roll than the Z (obviously). Sways will clear that right up.

Been seeing a lot of new Stangs out and about. I have to admit that they sound great and the look is appealing. I've thought about going to the dealership and looking at one up close.

Those seats are awesome.

I love the guages too. I always hated the retro guages on the regular models.

I'm not a huge fan of its interior, aesthetically. I agree the seats are a nice touch. And while I'm not a big fan of retro gauges, I don't think this is much of an improvement.

Still, you're paying for the performance. The rest matters very little.
