other than the live axle? :stirthepot:

seriously, it's a Found On Road Dead. Don't know about the new mustang, but historically quality and reliability were not something Ford was accused of very often so that's something you need to investigate. That, and because of their sheer abundance and commonality, they do not turn as many heads and their resale value does not hold as well as the Z

This is all just typical import fanboi talk. You are groomed to believe that all domestic makes are quality nightmares when in fact Ford has been topping quality and reliability charts since their product line renaissance in 2005. Ford is consistently ranked higher than Nissan in terms of quality and reliability, and we all know that Nissan makes quality vehicles.

"Found On Road Dead" is a thing of the past... That's from the domestic automobile dog days of the 70s-90s. Things have changed and domestic manufacturers like Ford are ranked highly in quality and reliability and it shows as they consistently take market share away from the likes of Honda, Toyota, Nissan, and the other makes that the consumer perceives as "most reliable."

The fact of the matter is the 2011 Mustang GT is built just as well, if not better, than our Zs. Materials used are the same high quality materials Nissan puts into our cars and build quality is just as good, if not better. Hell, Ford paint is better than Nissan's by unspeakable multiples. Any new Ford is NOT a car you need to worry about breaking or falling apart on you.

The only relic of the old days left on the Mustang is the solid rear axle, but as we all know (well, all of us except for you) is that it kicks *** and takes names on the drag strip and road course alike.

That is all.

If it were just two-seats, instead of four!

I'm going to give you a +1 for that /\. couldn't agree more. The solid rear axle is strong, great for straight ling performance and with the right suspension set up, will handle pretty damn good too. Keeps costs down as well.

wait, I thought the boss 302 deleted the rear seats? or at least that was optional?

theDreamer 08-14-2010 05:00 PM

I have seen two different pictures, which I think means it will be an option by the looks of it.
I assume the "basic" model is going to be a solid car but keep some of the street features while the upgrades are deleted back seat, recaro seats, etc.

LiquidZ 08-16-2010 11:31 AM

Leguna Seca model is the only one with the rear seat delete. Both models can get Recaros though.

FuszNissan 08-16-2010 11:34 AM

Laguna gives you the rear seat delete and the X roll bar installed. Sounds very promising.
