theDreamer - here, i did mrcarditroll's homework for him:

Mercedes-Benz-Powered Nissan Z - Car News - RoadandTrack.com

Quote:
If a diesel makes its way into the Z, it will be the 3.0-liter unit from the E350 BlueTEC. This powerplant puts out 211 bhp, making it much less powerful than the gasoline engine in the current Z, but torque is rated at nearly 400 lb.-ft. The hybrid option will most likely be the 3.5-liter V-6 mated with an electric motor—the setup currently in the S400 sedan. As for the possibility of a V-8-powered Z, we feel that it’s far-fetched at this point, but both Mercedes-Benz’s 5.5-liter and Nissan’s 5.6-liter make sense. If Nissan engineers design the next Z to accommodate one of these potent engines, then the Z will have the power-to-weight chops to take on the Chevrolet Corvette. Nissan can even toy with the idea of fitting Mercedes-Benz’s 500-plus-bhp AMG engine, creating a beast that’ll give the GT-R a run for its money.
Can I say...uh...NO THANKS. You're an idiot if you think the Z would be better with an ecotech-esque DIESEL engine, or a hybrid.

and my gut feel tells me that the original Mr. Z will never, ever let his car get a V8 out of the box. the 370Z already goes against his basic tenet of offering a good quality and affordable sports car by its hefty tag (in comparison to previous model Zs). putting a v8 and jacking up the price even more? not going to happen.

Troll???

Oh looky here another butt hurt fanboi!!!

But yes I believe that's what I read, I didn't say it was going to happen for sure. But it would be nice if Nissan did away with the VQ and fixed the other issues mentioned.

What issues?
I have zero problems, brakes are perfect, no oil heating issues, and the LSD is fantastic compared to no other. Maybe you need to start to drive your Z more...wait you do own a 370z right?

One of my friends traded his EVO 9 in for one and yes I've driven it plenty of times (You don't have to "own" one to see the faults) Personally I liked his EVO 9 better but his was becoming too costly to maintain. If you have zero issues with the car you probably drive like a little girl, no offense. The LSD is fantastic compared to no other? LMFAO!! You have a lot to learn. No oil heating issues? Again, LMFAO! Yeah sure if you don't drive very hard and you live up north you'll be alright but that doesn't work for me. The Brakes aren't bad; really just need better pads IMO. Yes, you can be this stuff and have it installed but it would be nice if it came out of the box ready to go. Lastly, I think a new engine should be in order; one that makes more torque (~ 300-320@ 3300-5500rpms) and less truck like in the upper rpms. Over all, it’s a great bang for the buck as is but it has a lot more potential. This can be said about many cars.

LSD fantastic...(lol good one Dreamer )

But this one makes me cranky. Zero issues with the car...drive like a little girl...Okay genius, explain the logic of this one.

Better yet, post a picture of your car. And a Carfax while you're at it. If it doesn't have dents or a rebuilt engine, you aren't driving fast enough. Contrary to popular belief, 88 mph is NOT enough anymore.

Wow, I didn't think it was possible but you're actually getting dumber with each and every post!

(re read what I posted) You obviously didn't get it..

Rebuilt engine or I'm not driving fast enough?? Yeah that makes a whole lot of sense.

You think 88mph is fast in a MS3? LOL, I've hit and sustained 155+ plenty of times

Sorry I tend to give, not receive. If that's the way you go though, I hear frost and Caravan are offering specials.

Oh, and I still don't see anything about the upgraded LSD, or an included oil cooler.

Anyway, Dreamer says I need to get back to my pillows, so back I go

BTW - Mr. MS3, you did drive a 370 before you wrote all this drivel...

right?

Did I say all the information is in the same article, etc??? Holy **** some of you folks are unbelievable! You actually think I'm just making **** up?? You think the 370z can't be improved?? Personally I think you're just afraid you're going to be driving an inferior car real soon. You’re going to have to learn to live with the facts that automobiles / technology improves over time. The bottom line is that I don’t just type **** for ***** and giggles. For you or anyone else to assume that I am just goes farther to prove how right I am.
