Made a Camaro owner mad!

Like I said, the V6s are the volume sellers. The V8s wouldn't exist without sales support from the V6s.

seriously in reverse it'd be even, and I mentioned that his car was a volume car in my "facts" it just further pissed him off. I think he was hoping the more $ he threw the more likely I'd be scared away. Still I wouldn't have run him, the economy sucks I don't want to take his $.

The interesting thing about the V6 Camaro is that it gets off the line pretty briskly. It put half a car on a Saleen Mustang to 60 before he pulled away.

I'm pretty sure that's because the V6 Camaro is geared nicely for quick getaways and it doesn't have too much power to where it's fighting for traction like the Saleen is.

Most drag races on street tires are even or close to even up until the first 60' or so where you can really get the power down and the faster car actually begins to pull.

I totally agree. I had the snow tire advantage which are sticky even at low temperatures

But the comment is that finally the American V6 cars (Camaro/Mustang) are quite drivable and actually peppy, their not the sub 200hp dogs they used to be.

I have to assume that it's because the camaro's 4,000,000,000 lb curb weight keeps the tires from being able to lose traction off the line.

Don't get caught sleeping on the "11" Stang V6, as it ran a 13.7 1/4, 5.1 sec to 60 and trapped 102 at M/T and it trapped at 104 at C/D. So its no longer the turtle it use to be!
