I've been having growing fandom of GM lately. Heard the Camaro and Vette divisions have been compete with each other. I'm sure other manufacturers have internal competition, but I mean we're talking about trading blows with a faster SS, then ZO6, then the ZL1, and then the ZR1.

Granted none of that is in the "regular person" budget, but with brands like...Nissan being stagnant, it's way cool.

The internal war between corvette azz nd camaro is amazing. It's a shame they're supposedly cancelling the camaro. Though there's a csmaro 3 test mule with modern engine and transmission running around in a hush hush test. P

Until you find out that the "modern engine" runs on electrons! :roflpuke2:

The new C8 is here and dam is it sexy, it does look like a cross between a Ferrari 458 and the new NSX but for 60k! I love the interior as the cockpit contours to the driver. Boy this or the new Supra? for about the same price I think I will take the new C8. Amazing job by GM.

Checking GM website the 2020 c8 is up already, looks like no manual but dam this is tempting at 60k What a bargain, this is what Acura should have done with their failed nsx.

At $60k this will take sales away from other cars.

UNKNOWN_370 07-19-2019 01:53 AM

495 horsepower
470 lbs tq.
8 speed dual clutch transmission.
0-60 in under 3 seconds
MRC 4.0
Front lift 2.0" with 1000 location memory
Under $60,000

The GT-R is now rendered... obsolete.

GraphiteZ 07-19-2019 08:58 AM

I wish Honda had taken this route with the NSX.

JLarson 07-19-2019 09:03 AM

Wow. That's a lot of car for that price tag! Way to go GM. Looks good too.

JARblue 07-19-2019 09:06 AM

$60K is impressive. But it's GM, so $60K also sounds like first gen headaches :ugh:

I'll test drive one though :yum:

OptionZero 07-19-2019 09:09 AM

Manual in the future planned?

eZg 07-19-2019 09:12 AM

Unlike the new Supra.......the vents and scoops are actually functional. Makes a difference to me!!

Zezus 07-19-2019 09:22 AM

I never really was a corvette guy... Until now.
I know what my next car is gonna be!
What a crazy performance bargain!

BlackZeda 07-19-2019 10:42 AM

So 3/4 of the **** that internet auto "journalists" speculate about turns out to be crap that they imagine and throw out there. Namely that the base C8 was going to cost more than $100K.

What we have here is an even more badass Chevy Fiero that is almost a supercar stock! Well done.

It's a recall generation with all makes and models these days... As far as new tech in the Corvette. It's only the DCT and front lift. But dual clutches have been in GM race cars before.
The rest of the technology is not new. It's just an updated c7 with the engine rearranged. The tech has smoothed out and upgraded instead of been invented in most cases.

If there were to be problems? I would think it may be cooling issues. But chevy has made several different mid engine prototypes that were rigorously tested over 5 decades. The car is new to market but not their experience in building mid engine cars. So I don't think it will be too bad

It's a first year model and just like with any car. You'll see the best version of thesecars in the 3rd and 4th year. That's true of GM or any car company.
