I don't know who you directed "the faster than" statement to? But if it was to me? Im just gonna say, i owned my Z for 6 years and a G37 before it. Ive never complained about its "speed" i was quite happy with my car but Nissan took too long to come out with a next gen so i moved on cuz I wanted more performance. If Nissan comes back with a new Z I may go back? The q60 chassis was underwhelming and the transmission is a joke. I buy drivers cars. Nissan falls short of this minus the Z and GTR. The Q is hokey, lacks identity from a driver's standpoint. It's a beautiful face with a soul in need of prozac. It's no Z. That's just a truth. Seems more like others can't see another car do good just to justify their own purchase, that really doesn't need justification. You buy what u buy. But that Kia... well. It's A better car on paper and it gives you what a car should in 2018. We'll see reliability as time passes but I think they fixed their reliability issues and learned a lot from the gencoupe run. As far as anyone commenting on Kias rep... Kia is not even comparable to Infiniti in quality. It compares to Nissan. So when I compared the stinger. I compared it to the Maxima. The Maxima CVT is completely unreliable and soulless. So I don't get the elitism about Kia reliability Consumer reports ranks Kia 3 in reliability. Nissan 11. So the Kia bashing from a Nissan owner is kinda lame, when statistically, Kia surpasses most car companies, namely, Nissan. We had our share of non compliance from Nissan as well. It's kinda hypocritical. |
I love the Z. For what it does it does it well. Could there be improvements? Absolutely. I just have a feeling that the Z heritage has probably run it's course and they're won't be another one. So as car enthusiasts what do we do..we move on to another vehicle that excites us. By the time I move on from the Z there is no telling what will be on the market. The GTR is getting dated as well and the creation of new Japanese muscle/sports cars are becoming few and far between. For what it's worth the Stinger is unique and pretty damn quick...same thing I looked for in my Z which I'm proud to say I daily!

so yes i'm with you. it 100% looks like an every day plain jane sedan. it is not special, it is not pretty, it does not stand out, and those stupid markers that wrap around off of the tail lights are just tacky to me. plus its 45-50k for meh. i can get many other toys that look way better and perform the same if not better. |
Not to hate on the competition, but I agree with Asus and FPenvy. The Stinger looks like someone/something has taken the Sting out of it. Average to just slightly above average sedan is about right. Performance? For a DD, it will be sitting on a highway in rush hour traffic with the best off 'em. But we are all entitled to our opinions.

:roflpuke2: but seriously it's trash. at any angle i see other cars styling that was stole/copied. nothing is original or exciting on this car. as for the price/performance/etc i can go tomorrow get an AWD 2016 BMW 550 with a TT V8 for 40-45k. now that is well worth the money vs a Kia :driving: EDIT: or a 2015 550 for 30-36k low miles :tiphat: |
I'm even more impressed now that I know Kia put this car out not expecting to sell many. They knew they'd get cannibalized by the SUV market but decided to out a performance sedan put there in limited numbers.
Nissan could care less about giving people performance. From Juke (188 turbo hp) to Kicks (125NA hp)??? Lol. Good job boring people to death. New Mitsubishi eclipse anyone??? I'll take the STINGER. https://youtu.be/ZDVbx1ZEs5E |

Man you know what I just came from an Eclipse and I'm still good with some of the old forum members. Most of them went with 350z/370z too. Every fan of Mitsu hates to see the route they went. No new revamp of Evolution or Vr4. Just your basic commuter vehicles being produced to stay relevant. I'm not mad because changing trends and changing times mean you have to follow suit if you wish to gain a few sales in the market but someone has to do SOMETHING that isn't your Mustang or Camaro...I just like to have the options available which is why I went with a 370 anyway. |

The Z was the best car in the last decade for the money cuz it fit all aspects of the car buying experience, it was hot looking, powerful and handled crazy with mild mods. Most cars today are disappointing. The Giulia is the best handling car today imho. I just got cold feet cuz of reliability questions. |

Definitely, used is the way to go. It'll probably depreciate like a rock. But good on them for making it. You are right on the engine choice. Here's the comparison of GT 3.3T AWD to the 370Z NISMO: http://www.zeperfs.com/en/duel4693-6976.htm Put the regular 2.0 turbo in and, oops, it don't look no good no more! http://www.zeperfs.com/en/duel4693-7081.htm |
