So if I understand this the original poster was comparing the Kia Stinger to the 370Z.

Stinger is a 4-door sedan vs 2 seat sports coupe.
Stinger GT is $41,500 vs 370z at $31,800

While the Stinger has impressive performance #s. I really don't see these in the same class of vehicle.

True, unless you widen the class to "performance oriented road cars". But your point is well taken.

Here is a clip of it competing with a couple of giants in its category (actually, by price, in a category or two over its head), and doing quite well!

Huh? I'm the origin al.poster. By saying they're passing Nissan you're quick to assume it's a 370z? Did you read anything I've said? A few pages back Z owners were comparing the Z to a Stinger and I had to clarify it's philosophy of use and I don't know HOW MANY TIMES I've made comparisons to the NISSAN MAXIMA what IDIOT is going to compare a turbo charged family car with performance Injected into it with a dedicated sport coupe?
I will applaud the Kia for outperforming many current coupes on paper... that said it's still not a comparison. It just shows it's time for some companies to step up their power or handling game with certain halos such as the 86 for power and the Q60 for handling. For their price points they lag. But they still aren't direct competitors to Kia... yet?

smh.... its fvckin amazing how people read what they wanna read.

Here's the introduction to the stinger long term test. Now the haters can follow and root for Kia to fail. And pray the stinger will be as reliable as a 95 Spectra. Lol.

For the rest of us... We can see how a new entry performance sedan progresses over the next year or two?

The Stinger cleaned up in that video! Unsurprisingly wiped the floor with the BoatMW in nearly every test.

Not that I'm in the market for a sedan right now, but I'm seeing new V6 Stingers advertised in the mid 33k price range, marked down from 39.3k, from dealers in the West Central (WeCe for you hip kids) FLA market. I'm sure it's the lower trim, bit still the Stinger GT model. Great price for that ride IMO!

Kia Stinger and new Genesis G70 I am starting to look. For I know at sometime I will need an AT and something bigger. Thou the Z is going no place. Just getting at that time of my life I have to think about the next car and maybe the last car.

But I still want to have something that is fun to drive... :driving:

Well for a rwd v6 turbo sedan that does 4.4 or 4.7 (depends on the review) 0 to 60, 33.5k ain't a bad place to start! Kia offers a solid warranty also.

If you want some real world dyno results go to @specialtyz on instagram. The Stinger ain't know joke. Seb is doing some comparisons between the Kia Stinger and the Q60 and the two variants of each. Let's put it this way, the Kia ain't know slouch!!!!

I just find it impressive that a company that made such throw away and boring autos have completely flipped the market!! I never have nor never will have qualms with what Hyundai/Kia os doing. Because at the price you're getting quite a bit of a car for the money.

Bit ironic I get an update to this thread today. Just received in the mail another recall notice for the 2011 kia optima. This time for the airbags/seat belt. Glad I got rid of that dreck long ago.

I came across a muffler delete stinger n it sounded pretty tough. In this vid, it sounds like a race car.
